Title: Is anybody else as exited about GTAV as me?

I've been a huge GTA fan since the PS1 days, i've played every game since those long gone 2D games seemed revolutionary.
With the next GTA due out in just over a months time i've been getting ready, my broadband will be installed in the morning, I have my Xbox subscription ready & a few months ago I bought a new pair of turtle beach headphones in preparation for the big day. On release day me & some friends will be meeting up to spend as much time as physically possible in a private free roam to see what we can find.
Each & every day I check online for any new news, such as:
3 playable characters
1 character has a Rottie called Pork Chop
Each character has an unique ability
You can scuba dive in sea wrecks for sunken treasure
Planes return to the series
There is wildlife that you can hunt (21 breeds)
There is a big announcement on Thursday about the online side of GTA, I'm like a kid waiting for Santa to drop down the chimney!!!
So I have to ask the question, is anyone else on this forum looking forward to this games release or am I on my own?

There are so many great games on the PS2 it's hard to put down, try GTA San Andreas & then imagine it with modern graphics with 16 other people messing around with you online & you have GTAV in a nutshell

I was actually looking up more Gta V gameplay news when I saw this. I have the game pre-ordered and got a poster, but honestly, if I find out that cheatcodes are not there or they disable the saves while cheating then I'll cancel my preorder. If not, then I will pay in full the day of using my store credit at Gamestop. It makes me all tingly on the inside thinking about the other games I traded in that pay for my GTA V at full price. It's the circle of gaming.
I know about of people will be calling in sick or missing school that day.
September can't come soon enough. I can't believe it's still over a month away.

I'm kinda meh on it because GTA4 tried to be a little too serious while adding crap vehicle handling.
And then there is the killjoy phase all 4 players probably hate

I would just hang up when someone pestered me for a bowling or darts game, if they wanted a drink then i'd jump at the chance as it was hilarious stumbling around, one time I fell down some steps outside of the bar & had to wait until I sobered up before I could get back up them!

GTA V looks amazing. They've changed the formula by the looks of things. It's more about planned bank heists than the old random ridiculous missions of the last games. I could be wrong, but the gameplay I've seen emphasises the players role in planning the jobs. As well as being as open world (and more) than San Andreas was.
All in all, a darn good game's a comin'!

According to all that i've read about GTAV they have improved the controls for gunfights (closer to Max Payne controls now), the car handling has also been tightened up.
Dreams2014 is right that a large part of the change in direction is planning heists, apparently the focus is on gaining wealth, I just hope they've given us plenty of virtual stuff to spent the virtual money on

According to a Brazilian magazine, it was stated that "robbery and heists will not be a part of the gameplay story".

I am not super excited, but I am looking forward to playing it. I will purchase it rather than rent it, but I don't know when. I believe you can purchase properties, right? You can also customize cars, so that should be another money sink.

I've always been more about random unprovoked street violence in GTA. I never really paid too much attention to missions and money and buying stuff.

Yes there is plenty to spend that money on (unlike GTAIV where money was useless!).

I think it's going to beat the crap out of GTA4, and I love that gamee.

Nope, not until they make the main character a womynz for once.
The only GTA games I like are GTA IV and San Andreas; I just like the characters and the enviroment more in those games. The others and the GTA IV DLC's haven't interested me.

Would be an interest slant on it.
A street hooker who gets screwed over by her pimp and decides to fight back and makes her own multi-million dollar drug empire?

That would be funny since killing a hooker and stealing back your money from her is what GTA is infamously known for. >.<

That's a great idea, you could stand on street corner until a punter pulls up & then you can rob him, if the cops see you then leg it!!

Personally I like that the characters have their own lives where when you switch which one you want to play as they could be in the middle of doing something.

I've been away for a while after having broadband fitted & getting back onto Xbox live with my friends but i'm back with the latest GTAV news/info.
Whilst GTAV is released on the 17th Sept you will not be able to play it online until the 1st Oct, Rockstar say this is becasue there is so much to get to grips with they wanted people to play single player before being thrown into online.
Rockstar say that anything you can do in single player you will be able to do online with your friends such as golf, tennis, watching TV, drinking etc...
Whilst online you can sit in your apartment & watch the police chase shows that will show your friends if they are in trouble with the law!!
There are around 700 online missions with about 500 being available at a time, these will be rotated to keep things fresh.
You can make your own races & deathmatches, in months to come Rockstar will unlock the ability for you to make & share your own missions (I kid you not!!)
If yu want a peacefull time online you can set yourself to passive mode so cannot shoot others or be shot.
When you do a co-op mission the person who sets up the mission decides how much each person gets from the takings.
You can hunt any of the 21 animals to be found around the map.
You can don scuba gear & search shipwrecks for sunken treasure.
You can customize vehicles & then insure them in case someone blows up your favourite car/bike.
You can hire a mechanic to keep your vehicles in good condition but he will not touch stolen vehicles!
You can trade on the stock market
Rockstar advise you to use banks & cash machines as if you have loads of money & get killed some of it will drop on the sidewalk for your killer/s to collect.
You can share cash & weapons apparently.
I've also heard a reference to 8 player missions.
The list goes on & on, this is only a tiny sample of what you can do online
Now are you as exited as me about GTAV coming out?

Ooh, just a little bit longer!
So what character is everyone going to main until online is unlocked? Probably going to go with Franklin myself, but I guess we'll see how they all play.

Just came back from midnight launch at Gamestop and got my copy- paid in full with store credit! I would like to take a moment to honor the games I have traded in that made it possible to own this game. Their sacrifices will be remembered.

I got my copy 1am from Asda, I had to wait in line with at least 300 other people & have been playing it all night long.
I've died many times, the first time was when I tried to steal a plane from the airport, later I got killed by a mountain lion as I tried to hike up mount chilliad unarmed, later still I found the military base & thought i'd try to steal a tank but got blown up by a tank for my efforts, this game is amazing!!

300 other people? Wow! It was probably 150-200 people combined at both of our Gamestops and at our Walmart. I'm more eager to open the game and play it now.

Got my copy paid off copy this morning, came home passed out and then waited for the 20min process of installing and waiting for it to load, have been playing it for just under 2 hours now and only failed a mission once cause I accidentally drove into some water and damaged the car I boosted(1st Franklin mission). So far only complaint is how loose the turning in vehicle is, tricky to keep it straight but at least it doesn't spin out as easy as games of old.

Just don't damage them because the esploding point seems to be a bit more subdue than earlier games.

It's hard for me to get too excited about the brand new games because they're out of my price range of what I'm willing to pay for a video game. I can't really think about them very seriously until they've been out long enough to get discounted.

If anyone wants cheat codes for GTAV then go to computer and videogames website (type C&VG into your search engine).
I can't wait for the online mode to unlock as i've looked at the back of the box & saw this: Co-op 2-16.
Me & my friends have moaned for years that games limit you to 4 player co-op, now we'll be able to ALL play co-op together like one big happy family (until someone crashes the getaway bus, lol)

Been loving it so far, so much better than the mess that was GTA IV (hated the realism in that game, and the driving physics were no fun whatsoever!)
It's been massive fun overall, though I really did not like the "By the book" mission, made me want to put the controller down and stop playing for a bit :(
