Title: Another day out and about
Post by: Jaelithe on August 14, 2013, 01:38:15 PM
I had a brunch-ish date with Suzi today and, deciding to act on some of the criticism I got on my makeup technique I went with a more subtle look, sticking to a few basic touches.  I think it looked pretty good in the mirror, and I certainly didn't get any weird looks while we were hanging out at the mall.  I was hoping to take some pictures to track progress and get more feedback, but no such luck there.  Everything I tried to do with my ipod came out looking horrible.  I don't know whether that's just another 'god I look like ->-bleeped-<-' stab from my brain, or if something about selfies makes them automatically look terrible, or if I really do look as bad as I worry I do.  Whatever the reason, I'll have to try again some time to see if I can get a better result.

What kind of makeup did you use? In the day time, A nice nude eyeshadow and minimal eyeliner would make your eyes pop. Maybe a subtle pink lip gloss too and some very, very light blush. Basically, it should look like you're not wearing makeup except for the eyeliner. Women don't wear full or dramatic makeup during the day. Or they shouldn't. It can really make you stand out. It really is an art applying makeup and making it look like you didn't apply makeup.

I mean I'm wearing makeup in my avatar but I don't think it's too much or anything. That only thing you can tell I'm wearing is the eyeliner/ But plenty of people wear eyeliner during the day. Or at least some people. or maybe one person lol

Right, today I stuck with foundation, powder and a light blush with just a light touch of eyeliner in a muted tone.  I think the foundation is going to be kind of a necessity until I stop growing facial hair at all, the tips are still visible otherwise even right after shaving.

I pluck my facial hair. I need to stop though as I should be getting some money I have been waiting for and as soon as that is in my bank account, I will get laser the next day. Right now it is a half-measure though to get me through. It is so much better then shaving as I plucked every hair on my chin and lip out (it took about a half hour to an hour and I use ice to numb the area) and I passed much, much better. I got hit on and so many random men said Hi to me I lost track. I think it was the plucking that helped or at least helped my confidence.

You looked great. You really did. I wouldn't say that if you didn't. Your makeup was well-applied, but you'd have looked fine even without it.
