Hey all,

I've lurked here for quite some time and finally decided to register.

Don't want to bore you with any in depth of my life up to this point; probably basic. I'm in my mid 30's now. Life up till recently was pretty much a neverending stream of self-destruction and destroyed relationships. The last year has been an unexpected turn of events.

1 year ago if you'd of asked me if I'd ever see a therapist you'd of gotten a serious "no". Couple of months later I started seeing one. 6 months ago if you'd of asked me if I'd of even began to entertain the idea of taking any tiny steps towards transitioning, "no". Few weeks later I began getting electrolysis. 3 months ago my therapist threw out the idea of hrt and let me know he'd write the letter. "absolutely never"

Today marks exactly 1 month on hrt.  :)

Honestly, I still do not have a set goal on how far I'll go ( stay PT, fulltime..etc. ). I'm enjoying the moment and going with what feels right. What feels right though feels like a powerful forward movement with little urge to look back.

  Welcome!  We're about the same age and I'm just starting HRT shortly too.  Your username reminds me a bit of mine.  Yes, everything I've done up to this point towards transition was once beyond the realm of fantasy also.  But I'm doing it and quite happy for it.  Best of luck with your transition and keep us informed.

Despite us ending badly, there is one truth I can take from my ex. She would always hound me that I suffered from severe depression and remind me that depression makes anything that could help you get out of the suffering seem impossible.

It's almost funny how I always liked my therapist from the start, but I honestly didn't think seeing him was helping anything. Just an hour a week to babble to someone. In retro spec I see all he did was gently ease me to at least move away from the depression. At that point, I hit the ground running on my own.  ;D
