Title: Transgender rights in Spain and other Europe countries

Hello,
I am living in Lithuania at the moment and I want to emigrate to another country in Europe where transgender people and LGBT in general has more acceptance and more rights. I was thinking about Spain. They have legalized same-sex marriage and adoption, bans discrimination and i personally enjoy southern culture and always wanted to live in South. But I don't know a lot about transgender rights there. Can you change your name without sterilization? Are there any clinics for transgender people? Can you get compensation for hormone therapy and any kind of surgery, specifically top surgery? I couldn't ever afford them by myself. So could any of you folks advise me about this matter? Also can you change your documents in a country where you live but aren't a citizen?

well, Spain is pretty wellknowed for good lgbt rights, as far I remember it listed as one of the best country on that matter. no sterilization is required, but to change your gender mark you would have to live in your desired gender for 2 years and after that you can get your stuff changed and be registered as any other man or woman. thats what I heard. but to get in more details maybe I could give you some contact to one who knows alot more about it than I do.

I think it sound as a good choice however there 1 problem, it should be pretty difficult to get jobs in spain, so take it in consideration, I dont know how easy the imigration is either.
