Title: My new blog!
Post by: Erik Ezrin on August 27, 2013, 09:08:06 AM
Hey everybody.
I just decided to start up a blog. Well, actually I have it for a while, but I'm becoming more active on it.
I thought some people might like to read it, so here it is; http://thetranshippie.blogspot.nl/

Feel free to share your thoughts about things in this thread or on the blog itself.

Grz,
Erik

I must admit i loved your dreads  :'(, but looking at your avatar your right you do very much look like a young man now. Don't worry so much about your voice, the video on your old blog sounded pretty good, and of course when you do get on T you will be flying :)

Bardoux, thanks :) I like that myself too! It feels even more odd to be called 'she' now, cause when I see myself I don't even SEE a 'she' anymore. So now I see a guy in the mirror and feel one inside, and people still call me she... which feels... annoying and weird.
Strangers usually gender me correctly on first sight, but I had quite a few "Hey young man!" "Yes?" "Ohhh, sorry miss!" kind of occasions. :/ So I guess my voice IS the breaking point, whether it be pitch or female speech patterns (I try to avoid anything obvious, but even when I do it doesn't help)

I'm really looking forward to T, but the waiting list in the Netherlands is pretty long (I think 1 year in the least, maybe even 1,5 year. Or longer if you don't get "green light" right away), and I yet have to come out to my parents, friends, etc.
I just wish I had told them sooner. But thanks to lots of stress in my childhood and earlier years (bullying, difficulties with school, etc.) my brain was way too busy sorting that stuff out. Only later, when my life calmed down, I truly realized the magnitude of my gender identity confusion and acknowledged it (damn you, denial phase)

I've added you to the list of blogs I frequent.

And as a fairly regular visitor to the Netherlands (Amsterdam), I'm happy that you're transitioning in such a great place.  You guys over there are always the most accommodating, friendly, and pleasant people I meet on my travels.  And once I reach some level of fluency with French, Dutch is next on my list!

Awesome, thanks Michele :)
I have adapted the comment things so anyone can comment without registering, so if anyone wants to say something, feel free to do so!

And I'm glad you had such a good experience with the Netherlands :) We can be a bit odd, or so I've heard, lol. And nice you want to learn our language. I think the beginning is often seen as relatively hard, but I think once you get the hang of it it's no way harder than -say for example- French.
