Title: Testosterone side effects - survey/questions

I know there can be lots of side effects for any drug taken and often a lot of them don't happen, but now I seem to be getting closer to being able to start I have a few queries/concerns and thought it might be good to have a thread on this so other FTMs can asertain what the likelihood is of certain things happening (my main concern is if the side effects are sooooo great that it stops you being able to take T - it can happen!!!!) The more people we get answering the better indication we'll get of the likelihood.
I would suggest posting:
• Age when you started T?
• How long you've been on T?
• Any side effects you experienced - along with how long into treatment did they start, and how long they lasted, or state if they are still there?
• Did you need to adjust anything to compensate for any side effects?
• Did they effect your dose and therefore the speed at which masculinisation happened?
• Did you need to come off T as result of any side effects?
• If you did need to stop T, could you/will you be able to resume at a later date?
• Did anything effect your mood? (i.e. mood swings due to being unable to get levels right)
• Anything else you might think relevant?
Thank you :D :D

Biggest problematic side effects for me, raise blood pressure and red blood count. Mood swings are rare. After 5 years of T, I would not change it for the world. My beard is slowly, very slowly filling in. I still have no side burns, stache is flimsy, and cheeks are bare. Jawline is starting to get fur. I have had no adjustments to my dose. My endo will cut you for smoking however.

Thanks Lord Kat. Isn't the red blood cell count quite a serious side effect? Do you mind if I ask what you have to do to keep that under control? You say you haven't had to adjust dose, but are you on a full dose, i.e. what you would have been if you didn't suffer from that?

My dose has not changed because of it. Men have a higher rbc than women. It can be controlled without changing my dosage at all.

That sounds good. I am MAAB and I couldn't grow a beard, only hair on my chin and a very flimsy stache. Nothing even close to sideburns. But yeah I'm transitioning the other way and it's super.
