At what point do people normally see this start to develop?

I've been told that it won't happen at all in people who are genetically female.

Unfortunately that's the case. Luckily some of us in the Male to Female fraternity don't have them either.
One of the lucky ones!

If you're worried about its effect on passing, I wouldn't be. There are far too many cismen without one.

Definatly not true, I myself developed an Adams apple. Its not big, but definatly noticeable. I started noticing it around the 6 month mark.

Someone once butted in to insist I was male because they had seen my Adam's apple. I...what?
Adams apples are only really noticeable, in my experience, the skinny guys. And that depends on the skinny guy.

I would think it depended on the structure of the neck (might stand out more on someone with less subcutaneous fat and muscle and all that) and also on when T is started. I'm pre-T but for some reason my voice is going through the changes one might expect in a young male entering puberty. My adam's apple only sticks out when I talk a lot or I'm stressed, but I have a feeling that if this continues and/or I get on T, it will become more prominent, as it was never visible in the past.
Besides, I know many cisgirls with and cisguys without a prominent adam's apple. It's not as big of a deal as you think it is

I'm pre-T and I already have a small adam's apple, my voice isn't super low or anything though. I think it's just because I'm very skinny and my neck is very long and slender so it pops out. It's only slightly noticeable unless I tilt my head back, then it really pops out. I know a lot of cisguys like that, you only see it when they are stretching their neck. I've seen girls with them before too. So basically adam's apples aren't a good determiner for sex.

Google image men's headshots. Very interesting. I have about as much as a lot of guys at 6 months. I have gotten a little bit of change in the neck, I think rather recently. Though my throat has really been sore.

I've developed one too...only 4 months in. Gotten comments on it from family etc so I'm pretty sure it isn't just wishful thinking!! It's actually pretty noticeable, and developed along with a voice drop that now has me speaking deeper than my husband. Haha.

Yes, we can develop them. Mine showed fairly early. It's not as prominent as some cis guys but it's definitely there and definitely visible.

well unlike what other people have said i know for sure that it does get more prominent while on T bc i've seen comparisons but i'm not sure when it does. everybody has one though but for some people, theirs are more visible. it's obviously going to be more visible for skinny people than someone who is overweight. my adam's apple is very prominent and i'm pre-t.

I've had a small adam's apple even pre-T but that's purely because I was - and am - on the skinnier side. It's more visible when the lighting is in the right angle, though. :D
Can't really say if it's gotten bigger on T, I haven't paid attention. :I
