Title: Lets talk about breast implants
Post by: missy1992 on September 07, 2013, 11:56:34 AM
Hey ladies!
So as the thread title implies, I am currently considering breast augmentation and I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you all on your pre and post op measurements, saline vs silicone, etc.

What causes me great anxiety is my measurements. My rib cage measures at 32 inches, and my bust at 35. A common problem I have that seems to be common with girlslikeus is the relatively large upper body as compared to average (I am not large by any chance but LOL at ever fitting into a size 2).

If post op my measurements are something like 39 or 40 (for the bust) do you think I will look out of proportion? (I am something like 35-27-37 currently). Will I still be able to fit in a small size shirt? A size 4 dress?

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply :)

I've been with two trans women who have implants, and both were Saline and they was harder then bricks, no fun to touch whatso ever.  So if your wanting a realistic bounce/ look go with silicone.

not to mention as long as you have regular check ups every few years, silicone is pretty safe. Thats why they are back on the market. If my breasts dont make it to a B cup on their own, ill be getting Silicone implants.

May I also just suggest look into the life span of each option. You'll need to replace them every so many years last time I checked.

That is what I've read as well. This is also what turned me off to the idea of getting them. I could never afford to have them put in and then have to replace them in certain intervals.

It also near ruins the chances for a MTF to ever breast feed which is a deal breaker for me even if it was only a 1% chance of ruining the possiblity to breast feed my own child one day.

Money doesnt matter, I will pay for only the best. Silicone implants generally last 15-20 years, Saline 10-15. YMMV, some woman have kept theirs in for well over 25 years, others have had ruptures relatively early ( below 5 years).

Whatever, I think you still can breast feed actually.

The biggest concern of mine is that my bust measurement is going to be something rediculous like 40 inches. This is NOT what I want... I want to still be able to fit in my clothes but I want a little extra cleavage. Maybe silicone implants that are below 300 cc?

Maybe I should just work on a time machine, and start puberty blockers  ::)

Also of concern... what happens if I get a sudden growth spurt on my breasts post op? Will I need a touch up? So much to think of argh!

You say whatever but you forget our beasts aren't the same as cis woman and that's a major factor but its your choice so I won't say anymore.

There are some clinics that can virtually model what implants would look like on you at different sizes.  Really, for a quick answer just stuff a bra.

I have a 42 inch chest, and none of it is fat.  I am in the same boat as you.  The dilemma is to either stay small cup size and use fashion to compensate proportion size (deep v neck or wide straps).... or go with larger boobs relatively speaking.  In between sizing dies not seem to work well. Just my opinion.
