Title: Where to get good dilators in Germany/Europe
Post by: anjaq on September 10, 2013, 01:45:46 PM
Hi. It was suggested to me by some people in the forum that I get a set of the "Soul Source" GRS dilators. I looked them up and they are in the US and want $50 for shipping to Germany. Does anyone know of a source for these dilators or others that are of comparable (or better) quality that is in Germany or the EU, so that shipping would be more affordable? If not, I am happy to invest the $50, but i dont want to just burn the money without reason ;)
Thanks

Hmm - no one? Or did I post this in the wrong subforum. Should have been in post-op, I guess as people there probably have more experience. Can I move the question there?

Anjac:

I think no one has replied because I don't think many have ordered from the EU or Germany.  However a google search of "vagninal dilators germany" came up with many links.  Though many of them seem to come from the same source.  Here are a couple of links:

http://en.medesign.de/frontend/shop/showArticle/vaginaldehner-soft/299 (http://en.medesign.de/frontend/shop/showArticle/vaginaldehner-soft/299)

http://www.wellnessproducts.ch/?lan=en&page=2129&id=66236 (http://www.wellnessproducts.ch/?lan=en&page=2129&id=66236)

I have no idea of their quality or use.  I too use the soulsource dilators and have not had any problem with them.

Another reason no one has replied yet is that few may have any experience with other dilators.

Anyway, I hope you find what you need.  If you do use a different brand, please give us a review.

Thanks!

Yes, I figures that probably women reading the post op section may have more knowledge than in the SRS section as the dilator question probably comes up only at the time of SRS itself. I looked at the links - the first has a variety of dilators, even ones that are shaped like the soul source ones, that is non tapered and made out of hard plastic, while most others are soft, which I was told is not a good thing actually as they should be hard to be effective. But the ones that were comparable are - and I found this so true for many things in general - more expensive than importing the soul source ones from the US and pay that expensive shipping. Stuff generally is more expensive in Europe it seems. The second link was cheaper, but they did not look trustworthy to me - they look like they are made of hollow plexi glass and they are tapered, which again I was told is not really a good thing.
So I may look further for a while, but I was hoping for some experiences here as the number of products available is big but I am not sure shich fits best the purpose. But if prices are comparable anyways and I dont get info on a good European product from experience, I think I will just import the ones from soul source - its worth the $50 shipping to get something that people say is good rather than be a guinea pig just to save that money (if at all)

I'm sorry, I just don't know. :( Soul Source is the only supplier I'm familiar with; I totally agree that $50 for shipping is super steep, but I can't honestly recommend anything I haven't seen for myself.
