Came out to my wife yesterday.. we cried and held each other.. we cried all day into the night.. she loves and supports me. She is devastated and hurting. She is a beautiful woman in more ways than I can express but she is scared of being left alone without a college education..
The transition plan would include her security we are planing the next moves.

Carrie, hugs for you and your wife.
Your wife sounds wonderful and some time will help. Expect a roller coaster ride for a while.

*hugs* it does take time. It took my wife almost 4 months to really accept me. Bring her along to your counselor, they can help explain and help her cope. Do try to be as patient with her as possible. For her she was just told her husband has died. That is how mine explained how it felt for her. I can say just from personal experience more and more couples are staying together throughout transition. Several couples I found through a local trans support group. This helped her a lot, because she knows she's not alone. Also Google spouse of a trans or things along that line. There are things for her. She needs a support system as much as you do. Best of luck in your journey.

Congrats at coming out... you sound like you're on the right track with your wife! It will be hard for both of you, but she's reacting positively not negatively.
Good luck and think of her needs as much (or slightly more) than your own!
