My gender therapist just gave me my green light for HRT.  Off to the endo I go.

Its like life is flowing again.  I am so excited and relieved.   Thanks to everyone here who kept me sane whilst waiting.

If you don't mind me asking, How many weeks / months of therapy did you have?

It took just three sessions with a gender specialist, but before that I had a therapist help me in my coming to terms with being transgender, and I had one session with the gender center.

In the middle of that was three expensive sessions with some dick psychiatrist who said it would be a long process and require many sessions.  On session 3 I cornered him about his experience with transgender people and he admitted he had none and did not know what wpath was.  Be on the look out for shrinks like this- ask them upfront if they have experience as I was devastated after that experience, became suicidal and still had to pay for the privilege.

Its such a relief to speak to someone experienced.

Wow congratulations. And props for calling your psychiatrist out on his credentials. Seriously. It took me awhile to realize how inept most psych professionals are regarding gender issues. It doesn't matter at all how fancy their degrees are or how many letters come after their name if they can't actually help you.

I will shortly be seeing a gender therapist myself, waiting on the call from them and....

I grew up on one of the few farms in the uk where magic mushrooms grew wild in our forrest.  Every year at the same time hippies would descend on us like zombies for brains.  True story.  If only I had known at the time... I would have been more popular at college thats for sure.   ::)

Got an endo lined up and checked his experience with trans peeps- apparently one of the top ones.  Not making same mistake twice.

Dyed my hair- its growing very fast too, which is a mixed blessing as you can imagine... out to all friends and family.. official letter... appointment to start storing sperm...  depression lifting so can finally get back into work.. name picked out...

Things are finally moving.

This girl just might make it after all.

Wow, i'm so glad that you unmasked that quack before you got into him for even more money that you already did - many people might just go along without knowing about it for a very long time and waste time & money.
