I find I use it a lot now :D
My facebook chats tend to be full of <3's depending on who I'm talking to. (I can't send :-* to my wife anymore... somehow seems weird).

What's wrong with using <3 as is? Personally, I like old school ascii emoticons.

The heart I did was just holding down ALT and hit 3 on the numpad or actually as it is on my laptop, ALT, function and L since it doesn't have a number pad.
Oh, and you can adjust the size and color with the font thingy. ♥
