Title: Any reason I should inform human resources
Post by: Tatyana on September 29, 2013, 09:03:53 PM
I was hired at my current employer while it was located in another state.  They knew I was a transsexual when they hired me and no one had a problem with it.  Then 2 years ago the company moved to another state and I relocated with the company. New supervisor and new coworkers and I'm well liked with no problems. However the new HR department does not know I'm a transsexual because they have never met me.  They are in a separate building.  So is there any reason at all that I should inform HR that I'm transsexual?  I can't think of one but who knows.

I would talk with them only if there is a need to know. Same with anyone else you know.

I worked in the construction field and my last job i got after i had all my paperwork changed and was in my RLT No one knew and i keeped it that way. Many here scream about being stealth, but remember stealth is always safer. I just call it normal.

Now that i am post, there is no one who ever needs to know anything about my past.

You choose.

The only reason I told people at work is the bathroom situation.  I can't legally use the lady's room so I have to use the men's room but the men would think I'm using the wrong bathroom.  If I had known there was a unisex bathroom I would have just kept my mouth shut and work as a cis female.
