Well this is short notice, but on Wednesday I'm going to a trans* support group. It's the first one I've ever been to and I'd like to present as a girl. I bought some girl's clothes the other day but I didn't buy any bras or underwear. Is there any way to stuff my shirt without a bra and have it look real? If I really need to, I can perhaps borrow a bra or maybe make a makeshift one out of a plastic garbage bag. But what should I stuff my shirt with? Socks? Plastic bags? Paper towels? I don't have time to buy or make breast forms or anything like that.

You should get a bra! And you can get away with stuffing it with socks, as long as your'e shirt isn't to low cut!! :)

Oh and BTW, you should get a padded and under wired bra!!!!

I stuffed my bra with two identical rags. It worked well for months, though I eventually ordered breast forms. My worry was always that I'd get caught in the rain.

I don't know of any way to "stuff" without a bra to stuff things *into.* :) I guess you could try filling socks with rice and trying to duct-tape (!) them on.

However, if you really want to get the effect without wearing a traditional bra, there are adhesive breast forms intended to work as a bra for cis women, something like this : http://www.target.com/p/fashion-forms-womens-amazing-adhesive-nude/-/A-13793402#prodSlot=large_1_1  I know you don't have time to buy anything now, but it's a thought for the future.

Umm... well... yeah, get a bra and, though I've never done this myself, my cross dresser friends used to use nylons, doubled up and filled with dried peas, popcorn, or rice. Seemed to work well, I guess.

Personally, I just put on a cute dress and walked out the door my first time out. No one said shiz. Presenting female doesn't necessarily mean boobs, hon. It means being yourself. For my 2¢, I'd avoid getting all wrapped up in the 'OMG boobs and butts and face and and and and annnnnnd' stuff. Just be you, make sure that you're as hairless as you want to be in the places where you want to be, get cute, go out. I've always imagined using boob fillers as something of a horrible idea just because you'd have to come home and then take 'em off and then... *bam* boobless. Even after HRT, I only have an A-cup but I really don't have a problem with it, I just make sure that I'm being myself and everything seems to work out.

When I really want to look more feminine, I reach for the padded bras I bought from WalMart (I know, they're evil, but sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do).

If you go into the women's section, you'll find that almost all of the A cup bras have padding.  I wear one that pads my 1/2 A's (pre hormone) to a full size C, and it works beautifully.  The underwire helps boost the girls up onto the padding, and the padding holds them in place so the area above them actually comes out to meet the top of the bra, giving me the illusion of some cleavage.  :)

Of course, this trick will only work if you can actually fit into the bra, so your mileage may vary.

Other options include making little sacks from the foot area of an old pair of panty hose and filling them with birdseed (very handy, you can shape them and they will fill a bra nicely) or one of those old cushy nerf balls (the foam rubber kind) cut in half.  They won't feel right or jiggle properly, but they'll fill a bra and make it look good. :)

I used for the first year of my RLT was the silicone breast forms. I got one pair from Macys and the other pair from Victoria's Secret. When i got them they had different sizes. I so miss Victoria Secrets  >:-) Either ones cost much maybe under $20.00 a pair back in 2005.
On line you can also get breast prosthetics.

Attachable breast forms definitely! A got a really good pair for under $200.00. Only problem is I hate taking them off now! ;)

I agree with Victoria. It is all about being yourself. I'm lucky in that I'm petite and had something to work with to start. A padded underwire makes me look small to average in comparison to other women. We all come in many shapes and sizes. Big boobs aren't that important.

I had the idea that this is something that is happening on short notice. I knew a cross dresser who used to fill the bra cups with a small round balloon on each side partially filled with water. The tied end went to her chest with the nipple end facing forward, I thought OMG they looked real and moved as if they were real. Just stay away from sharp objects.  ;D

I agree with the others. No matter what you choose to stuff with you will need a bra. I have a pair of nice padded ones right now and I highly recommend them. I just stuff very lightly with a pair of ankle socks. Fits my frame, adds a pleasant shape, and doesn't make me feel like a tramp. ;)

The trick with looking female is remembering how many options actually exist.

You don't need to default to the cliche stereo type  :)

Some women are awesome looking and basically flat. I'd kill to look like Celine Dion, and even after more than one child, she's fairly flat. She still looks awesome in an evening dress.

Some girls are just not very busty.

Padded underwire bras are great, but you can look really great with no bra or boobs at all. When I dress up I don't allow myself get caught up in the necessity for bras and boobs. You can look really feminine and sexy as a flat chested girl in nice feminine clothes.

Breast forms are amazing....just dont sleep with them in or they can pop and leave a really nasty mess in your bed, bra and shirt.

Socks or toilet paper are the classics for bra stuffing, just if use socks make sure to use thin ones as I'd imagine that thick socks would look kind of lumpy. Also you could try filling socks with rice or some other grain a slightly more relistic look, that's what I did for my first few times presenting as female. Though soon after that I ended up buying a padded masectomy bra which I would reccomend, it seems a lot more hassle free than stick on breast forms. Though once your natural breasts start growing a little you'll want to switch to a padded push-up bra.

THIS! Also, if you ever do something active where you'd need a sports bra, the *difference* would be extremely... noticeable. Hehehe, I'm actually a bit reserved about the thought of doing augmentation because I've got about 150 people used to seeing me as a relatively flat-chested chick in my sports bra.

Go with a padded push-up style bra. One of my favorite brands is Maidenform. Comfortable, decent size but not overboard, and relatively cheap. I see them on clearance at Target or Fred Meyer all the time.

This is true! My ex wife is about an A cup, and I liked her thin body when we met. I still do. She likes to point out that she won't be sagging when she's older (she's only 37).  Too big and women look cartoonish.

Well I ended up not stuffing my shirt at all. I tried socks at first but they looked ridiculous and I couldn't find any tape in the house so next time I'll buy a bra if I do want to stuff. Everything went well though.  :)

If you're stuffing, underwire works best to hold things in place or else you could be pointing in all sorts of directions. :P
Carefully chosen clothing will flatter and be more comfortable.
