Title: Small Victories

I've heard of these things happening, but I never thought I'd experience it myself.
So I'm on the bus.
I'm on the bus, and I sit near the back, with my headphones in. And right beside me are these two mean, nasty girls whom I can hear trashing me for the entire ride. Everything from my glasses to my shoes to my apparent idiocy they completely despise. Not wanting to cause a scene, I say nothing and pretend to be really into my music from all the way downtown to the bus stop near my place.
Then, after I thank the driver and leave the bus, I turn around and give them a big old smile and wave at them through the window. And I know they saw me waving because the one on the left jerked and pointed.
You know why I was smiling and waving? The whole time they were hating on me... they used the right pronouns. ;D
Have any of you here ever had 'small victories' like this? Where someone tries to insult you or bring you down, but ends up making you grin from ear to ear instead? Feels good, huh?

Its not really the way to get good pronouns, but take it as you can. Someday soon it will all be good. Hang in and you did the right thing by just not getting to there levels. You won!

Good for you! I was harassed my whole life just for being me. At least they noticed you, that's better than being invisible. It's like art, if you cause a reaction, you are doing something right. And they hated it. ;)

Haha, thanks everyone! Maybe next time they'll think twice before insulting people they think can't hear them. Okay, probably not, but at least these kinds of encounters aren't the norm around here. ::)
