Title: Trans women - weight lifting on spiro, estrogen
Post by: KabitTarah on October 08, 2013, 07:38:11 AM
I have one general question and a couple specific ones.

What are your experiences with transgender women who do weight lifting or circuit training as part of their routine? Does this get basically the same results as genetic women with similar T levels?

Does spiro only (something I am planning to do for ~ 6 months) also mean I can start lifting as part of my routine and get similar results? Would it be smart to wait for 1st blood work (to ensure T is in female range)?

I definitely want to step up exercise once I start spiro... to help combat the fatigue I hear about.

My personal experience is that, yes, I'm getting something much closer to what my wife does when we do the same weight-lifting regimen together. (Before, I had much less trouble developing "flashy" bigger muscles, though I never could out-lift her.) I can still train my muscles to the point where it's possible to lift higher weights, but it's no longer possible for me to get beyond a "lightly toned" look these days.

I don't take spiro, though, so I have no idea about that.
