Title: What am I?
Post by: Riley on October 21, 2013, 07:03:10 AM

Hi,
I am born female, but a lot of times I wish I had a male body. I hate my breasts, and I hate my vagina. But some moments I like being girly, I love shopping, I sometimes dress up feminine, and it feels all right. But most of the time I wear male clothing.
I really wonder what's wrong with me.... Why do I hate my body?

Guys can love shopping too! Nothing wrong with that. Just as in nothing's wrong with girls hating shopping and only wanting to do sports. That doesn't necessarily say anything about your gender, but it does say something about personality/interests. :)
Have you considered talking to a counsillor with some experience with gender related issues? (Because of the hating on your physical appearance, I mean)
Oh and WELCOME :D

Welcome to Susan's.
The feelings you are having are feelings that a lot of trans men (men who have transition from female to male) have. So that would be something you might look into. Like Kittens, I would suggest finding a gender therapist if one is available.

We've had plenty of transmen who still wanted to wear skirts and dresses and transwomen who are tomboys. It's not want all of them want to do, but it's... fairly common.
It's good to have a gender therapist to help you figure out where you are, though. We'll do what we can.

I don't know Riley, but it's certainly not an uncommon set of feelings there are several if not many born females here who have expressed those same feelings. I'm sure it's something that a professional could help you sort out, but meantime welcome here, you are among friends and likeminded people.

Thanks a lot. I'm happy I found this forum, would love to visit more often.
To all the other's here, I will try finding a gender therapist. Thanks.
I wonder If I am transgender or Androgyn :)

Still trying to figure that out myself :). My situation is very similar to yours. Hope this site helps you with your journey.
And welcome! :)

You can be both.
Transgender simply means that your internally identified gender doesn't match your physical body.
Androgyne is one way you could be transgender.
For me, I spent many months trying to figure out whether I was androgyne or MtF. In the end it didn't matter much - I ended up deciding to live as a woman and basically be me, without trying to give my gender identity a name.

some try it out, and move on. some come and stay, some avoid at all cost, some try and like but stay in touch. In the end you wont know unless try and find out. gender identity is what feels right for you, regardless of others opinions. Its when you "are" rather than "do".
