So I making a profile on a dating site. I plan to be straight forward about being trans but i don't know if that will attract a bunch of curious frat boys or crazy people. How much info is too much. Also this profile is mostly for social purposes, I'm not really the find love type.

Try it and find out! What do you have to lose? If you are not sure what to say, or what you say doesn't work out, you could always lie about what city you live in and experiment with what works.

Don't lie about anything, but you don't have to tell everything about yourself. What makes you an interesting person, someone others might want to get to know? What about you might someone else relate to?
Avoid including anything that someone clever could use to trace you to your real identity. Be very general about what you do, the community you live in and anything distinctive about your appearance or lifestyle.
Good luck. Enjoy the adventure.

Be prepared for negative responses. They will happen.

People only date for 2 reasons, sex or a relationship.
If you don't need either of those two though, you likely would be better off just going to a coffee shop or donut shop and engaging people in casual chat.
Everyone needs to have 'people' in their lives, it's a human thing.
But online dating is merely a convenient way to find people for the above two reasons and not need to buy a lot of beer sampling a very limited pool of choices locally.
If you are not expecting a relationship and have no need for the sex, then you might want to be selective at what details you include. Don't call it sins of omission, call it wisdom.
