Title: Meaning of Dreams

Last night the dreams were good. Normally I can't remember my dreams but I remember this one clearly. There were a lot of things going on, and to me seemed like I was dreaming about my normal life except I was with my family a lot. One thing I remember the clearest is my mother, and how in my dream she was talking to me, and everyone else as her daughter. She kept using words like she, her, daughter, girl, woman and so on and never used a masculine word such as he, his, boy, son, man...ect.
I want to know if this means anything major or minor? Is my mind trying to tell me something? People usually say dreams have a meaning and I would like to know what everyone thinks.
Thank you,
Kasi

Dreams usually don't have any meaning beyond the fact that they can sometimes reflect something that's on your mind or that is important to you. I would guess that since you're transitioning, and assuming that it's important for your family to accept you, that this is why you had this dream.

I think it's difficult to interpret something like that because the imagery and symbolism are often very different to different people. And what means one thing to one, can mean something very different to another.
The question I would ask is - how did the dream make you feel?

I had a great one where I was an undercover agent, a friend of mine did my makeup and wardrobe and I passed perfectly. Really exciting for me.

My other is accepting but I don't know if she really accepts it or is just ok with it. It is very important that my family accepts me and that I am still a part of the family, but even if they didn't, I would still travel down this path. The thing is, I know my mother loves me, she wants fro me what ever makes me the happiest, and it is clear that she is not leaving my life. She hasn't said that, but her gestures speak louder than words.
The way it made me feel was great, exactly the same was as when I was with one of my best friends in Florida, and she was talking to me, her friends, and on the phone as if I had always been female to her...and this wasn't a dream.
ow was it it be a female undercover agent????
One thing I have noticed about dreams, well my dreams is that when ever I remember them, usually something dramatic happened, or happens really soon. I guess I just need to figure this one out.

Dreams are often just dreams. Sometimes they do have meaning in the sense that they tell you what your thinking about or what is meaningful to you, but I don't think they tell us something secret about the future or what will come to be. In this case, it sounds that you are thinking about how your family will interpret your coming out and hoping they will embrace you. That makes sense and it's no wonder you have that on your mind. It's obviously something very important to you and having their acceptance would be very meaningful to you. Still, I don't think that says anything about what will happen, but rather what you are hoping to happen.

I agree with what has already been said above. Most dreams are just dreams. It's the brains way of sorting through thought and images and unless you control your dreams is pretty much random. Some dreams do seem to have meaning but unfortunately that can only be sorted out by you. A few rare ones can be obvious like the other night when i dreamed a demon was eating me. Not good going to sleep depressed.

My most exciting ones were those where I had superpowers, lol :). But I have to admit that I never saw myself in my dreams and quite often they were like the third person's narrative. It is hard to explain, but I felt like I was watching a dream about someone else, though at the same time I knew that this person was me... Still, usually they were full of adventures anyway :)
Wow... I thought *I* was the only one who did that. I wonder if it has to do with dysphoria...

I used to be able to fly in my dreams. These days it's more like floating a few feet off the ground, happened again this week and I remember thinking during the dream "it's happening for real this time, I'm not dreaming"... d'oh!

I would love to know that too... :) I also never was in familiar places - like the place was vaguely familiar, I was supposed to be in the same city but when I woke up I always new that such place does not exist.
I never could fly in my dreams... But... :) My most favourite recurring dream used to be when I was falling from some significant height - last time it was a six storey building - I am falling down and seeing the ground coming towards me, my tummy tightening as the inevitable approaches and then - I always hit the ground, my legs first, and immediately bounce off it, taking into a very high leap, finding something to get a hold (like a roof of another building :P) and getting into safety.
And then there was one horror dream - I was roaming an empty deserted house, suddenly I was in a room with no doors (no idea how I ever got there...), the lights get dimmer and then a black mist starts gathering in one of the corners. It gets thicker and thicker and takes a shape of three human-like figures - the one in the middle is taller and two others are at his sides. I see their outlines clearly, they are like a mist, slightly transparent, with no facial features. Then, I am noticing that their eyes are getting the shape - they are opening their eyes, all three of them simultaneously and somehow I know that I must not look into those eyes. I am backing off, turning my gaze away from them and then there is a wall behind me and no more room to back away. The figures start drifting towards me and I keep turning away of them, raising my arms in front of me as I am trying to protect myself. I feel something warm in the middle of my palms and then two sets of orange coloured lightnings strike straight out of my palms, hitting those figures and turning them back into harmless mist. The room becomes clear and next part of my dream is starting.

Some of my favorites are of flying... in recent years, it's like I'm walking on the street and suddenly remember how to fly; I knew how to do it during childhood. So I begin to kind of run and hold my breath, and the next thing I know my feet are not even touching the ground. I wonder if anyone else notices, if they would be jealous of me, the girl who flies...
Then sometimes I decide it doesn't matter and soon I'm looking down on the treetops, soaring into the air...
I can't wait for that dream again. I just realized-- I started crying when I typed "the girl who flies" and that's because I always have been a girl in those dreams!
