Hello everyone :)
My name is Natalia, I'm a 26 years old MTF that started HRT Just about one month ago! Yay
First, I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil and english is not my mother tongue, so please forgive my mistakes (I am sure there will be a lot of them)
I never felt like a real man and, as someone that was always fighting with my weight, I really suffered with my body, trying to hide my somewhat feminine curves. The boys really mocked me when I was 12 calling me a girl because of my body...I was really annoyed with that.
I didn't realize until about one year ago, but I always had a feminine side wanting to get out. Since I was a child I remember I loved to wear my mother's shoes and try her clothes...she took it as a child thing, but now I think that it was much more than that, I just wasn't aware of it at that time.
But then I grew up trying to be a boy and I never really achieved that. Besides loving videogames and action movies, I never really had a boy side...and never allowed my feminine me to get out...I think I grew up kind of neutral.
I think that my strongest feminine characteristics are that I am very emotive and cry with literally everything, I am a calm person, very polite and also extremely shy! Lucky me the internet is easier to communicate with others, right? ^^
Well, I think I already wrote too much for just an introduction, but I am really happy to be on this forum and to be posting about me and not only reading as an observer.
I started HRT and I am feeling really good with myself. So far I already can see good changes! Softer and whiter skin, my thighs and butt that were already big seems to be bigger, my waist is smaller, my body odor has changed, my hands and feet looks a bit different, my boobs are growing fast, my hair is slowly growing back on bald areas (just one month, it is almost unbelievable)
But I am still on boy mode... I am really afraid of coming out to my family... I am sure they won't understand me at all...so I started HRT by my own without their knowledge. I will try to deal with things as they show up, but I think that after a while my changes will become each time more visible and harder to hide. That makes me really happy and really sad at the same time lol
Kisses :)
Nath

Hey, you didn't see my intro, or many others. We all like to write long intros and such.
Don't worry about language, we're pretty good at deciphering it. Or at least I am; I was able to communicate with Angolan students when they spoke Portuguese to me and I responded in Spanish. I do intend on learning Portuguese and visiting Brasil. But most of us are understanding that we're not all from one place; this is a worldwide website. Your best is all that's required :)
We seem to be very similar in out interests and emotions. Almost like twins, born 7 years apart.
A lot of us seem like that :D
And your name makes me think of Goldeneye.
Boris: Natalia!
Natalia: *slap*
And welcome, Natalia. You're really going to like it here.

Good morning. Welcome to Susan's.
Your English is actually very good. I used to have a pen pal from Brazil. He spoke Spanish.
Glad to have you here.

Hi Nath! ;D
Welcome to the family. I'm happy for you that you've already started to become on the outside who you are in the inside. You can relax here, and never worry about saying too much. No such thing as too many questions, either. :D
I think your English is excellent.
love,
-maggie

Welcome to Susan's, Nath! :)
I must say, you seem to be on the fast track. A thought occurred, but maybe one that might be helpful. Since you mentioned your curves growing up and how fast you're responding to HRT, have you by chance had your doctor check to see if you have an intersex condition? It might help to know, at least for your parents, if you do.
There is a lot of good advice on the "Coming out" topic on the forum that you might find helpful, when changes come and you decide you no longer want to hide your status. That advice helped me tremendously in coming out to my family.
*hug*
Oh, and your English is really very good, there is absolutely no need to feel self-conscious about it. The ranks of this site are literally filled with people from all over the world who are extremely understanding and loving. Hope you find a home here like I did! :)

Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome :D You made my day happy, really! Thank you :D :D :D
Robin, thank you for the advice! I'll look there for some tips, quite sure they will be needed! ^^
About the intersex condition, I don't think it is my case, but I am no doctor, so I will ask mine about it...but after a quick research I think it can be excluded as I have some undesirable masculine features that some people on those condition probably wouldn't present, mainly male pattern baldness (early stage, but it is there :( ) and a good amount of beard.
Talking about beard...I am having such a terrible time every time I shave now that I am on HRT, probably because my skin is thinner on my face. After every shave my face becomes red as a tomato and burns like pepper! It stays that way for about one hour. Anyone have any tips about reducing the irritation?
Hugs and Kisses ;)

Best advice I can give you is to find the best moisturizing shaving lotion on the market in your area... I use a women's shaving gel designed for legs and sensitive bits, with a light lavender scent. It seems to apply thicker than regular shaving foam, and reduces irritation tremendously. Also, try using one of the higher-end disposable blade razors, like the Schick Quatro or the five-bladed one from Gillette. The blades may only last a week or two, but they barely brush the skin and save very closely. More expensive, but they really help with sensitive skin (mine, before HRT, turns bright red with lesser razors, I kind of fear shaving during HRT... )
