Title: Shaping Eyebrows...for beginners?

Hi all! I started shaping my eyebrows by plucking with tweezers. I think I know what shape I want. Do you girls use wax strips to get a straight line? Or should I just do it all with tweezers? Any advice? Thanks in advance! Sorry if this topic is posted in the wrong section.

As a general rule - Hold up a make-up brush (or pencil, ruler, any straight object) and align the arch of your eyebrow from the edge of your nose through your pupil. Then it's trial and error, have a good eyebrow pencil handy to reshape it, and as another general rule, always pluck from underneath your eyebrow.

don't pluck much in one go. Thin out any stragglers outside the main eyebrow. Then make a *little* bit of shape. Leave it for a few days then maybe shape a little bit more. There is no need to jump straight in and you are more likely to end up going wrong if you don't do it slowly.

Try going to an eyebrow salon for the initial shaping then maintain it yourself. I just head to a threading salon about once a month. $10, quick, easy, and done right.

Yeah, I agree with this. I made this mistake and am waiting for some hair to grow back in. Nothing major, but I should have been less eager about it and planned more ahead. It is a learning process and my brows have been improving. If you need help, you could get a stencil to help you shape it and tweeze what's around. That's what I'm doing.
Going to a saloon is a good idea too, but make sure they do what you want. After all, there are lots of different brow styles.

I would recommend not going to a saloon to get your brows done. Drunk people are not coordinated enough to do it properly ;)

Well, you never know. You may get some interesting brows that make your face really stand out! ;) :D
Oh come on, we are all used to my many grammatical errors by now, lol.

The way I do it, with my eyes and for full androgyne-tomboy eyebrows, is to pluck bottom edge only from the ridge of my browbone down (and leaving a little in the center full width).
But how I got to that pattern was to take some good photographs and spend several hours playing around in Photoshop to get a shape I halfway-liked before starting.
