Title: And Now It Goes to Corporate...
Post by: Yukari-sensei on November 11, 2013, 08:32:24 PM
I've finally had my meeting concerning my transitioning with the general manager, it was a very interesting experience to say the least...

It's clear that I still have my job, the question is how do we proceed from now? They are really concerned over my transition timeline and how to seamlessly move me to female staff and the women's uniform. :)

Interestingly enough, they kept on speaking on the courage it takes to come out and how pleased they were to have a greater diversity in our corporate family; but, they need to talk to corporate - I'm apparently the first transgender employee we have ever had. I anticipate smooth sailing; I checked out our parent company's corporate equality index - we scored a 90!  :)

Sounds promising.   :)

'Going to Corporate' need not be a negative thing.  They probably just want to be sure that they're dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's....review of antidiscrimination policy as well as reasonable accommodation policy, etc.

Fingers crossed,
