Title: Hi everyone!
Post by: Kathleen69 on November 15, 2013, 09:18:05 AM
My name I Kathleen, I am biologically male but I have recently realised that I am trans. I started cross dressing at the age of 7 and I managed very successfully to stay firmly in the closet until I was 30. Which was when I told my partner of 10 years

I did not handle this coming out very well and she did not take it very well so rather than that being me coming out of the closet, it was more a case of me inviting her in. Which is where she still is to a great degree.

I on the other hand am ready to go out there tell the world who I am and be myself for the first time in my life but out of respect for her feelings I have only done so with a limited number of our mutual friends. It is a very conflicted position I am in. many people know I cross dress, a few know I am TG  but not my children or her family

She has told me with total certainty that if I transition I am on my own

I have just been informed by my GP that I am being referred to Charing Cross GIC

As much as I would love to save my relationship  (I do love her with every fibre of my being) I fear it may be a lost cause

Kathleen!
A lot of us are in this position with our partners. My wife took it very poorly when I told her (about 3 months ago), had a breakdown, and has just started opening back up. She's still not doing well, but we're a bit better. We're looking at an amicable divorce after the holidays. We also have 3 kids, which complicates things immensely. I came out to myself right before I told her... I'm 35.

Good luck figuring out your path with your wife. I wish you both love, understanding, and acceptance!

Welcome to Susan's, Kathleen. I pray that you and your spouse can work this out. My spouse was shocked  :o when I told her eight years ago that I cross dress. It took her some time to process this but she is fine with it now. Give her some time for that. Maybe she will come around.
