Title: Anyone with asthma have/considering VFS?

Hi all,
a quick & simple medical question...I hope.
I suffer from a reactive airway (asthma) which is extremely well controlled with Advair (an inhaled long-acting bronchodilator & corticosteroid)
My concern is that the inhaled steroid might be exclusionary for VFS. Has anyone ever inquired about or undergone VFS while being treated with Advair or a similar medication?
Hugs,

Well, as far as Yeson is concerned I don't see anything explicitly saying they exclude people with Asthma. However, you can email them to make sure. I'm not sure about Dr. Thomas or any other VFS surgeon.

I have minor asthma - pretty much only affects me during allergy season or after a really strenuous exercise. Yeson said that was fine I just had to have my inhaler with me just in case.
Definitely check with your surgeon though, and it's something they will definitely want to know about.

Thanks for the replies...as I expected, fortunately. My real concern was from the inhaled steroid and its effects directly on the laryngeal tissues more than the reactive airway component itself.
I have emailed Jessie and I anxiously await her reply.
Hugs for all...

+1
Same for me, too. I did have to take my inhaler a few times because of allergies in Seoul. I just use albuterol though, not a steroid inhaler.
I hope everything works out! I'm pretty sure it won't matter
