Title: What would this make someone?

I identify as a trans man. In my mind I feel 110% male in this horrible female body. However, hypothetically speaking, if I liked to dress up as a lady, would this make me a male who likes to crossdress or a female who likes to crossdress as a man? This has been playing on my mind a lot lately and I can't make sense of it. I hope this doesn't offend anybody and I'm very sorry if it does.

If you identify as male, it makes you a guy who likes to crossdress as a lady.

Worry less about the label and more about what makes you happy. We are all on a sliding continuum- all grey area to some extent- cis, trans, straight, whatever.
Gender and expression of gender is a complex network of biological, psychological and social interworkings. Have fun.

Thanks for the quick replies. I don't do this, but I've been curious about what it would make me if I did. I'm not going to lie, I have thought about it several times and did try it, but it didn't feel right. My mind has been divulging deep into my soul lately and opening lots of doors to some unanswered questions. This is the only place that I feel I can talk about it.

I know trans guys who like to do this. There's nothing wrong with it, you are just you. Perhaps you wouldn't identify as 100% male, I don't know. I imagine it's cross dressing, but as you know that also is a way of being transgender.

Strictly speaking, it would make you a guy who crossdresses as a girl. You wouldn't magically feel like a woman by wearing women's clothes.
That said though, we generally don't call women wearing men's clothes crossdressers anymore because it's socially acceptable for a woman to do that. So on that line of thought, why should we think of a man wearing women's clothes as a crossdresser? My grandpa and I had this debate - one of my brother's friends is gay, pretty masculine bodywise (big muscles, hairy) but he likes to wear women's perfumes and dresses in clothes from the women's department a lot of the time. But he definitely isn't presenting female, because he has short hair, beard, the muscles, and it's not skirts/dresses, just women's jeans and tops. My grandpa said he was a crossdresser because he was a man wearing women's clothes. But I can't see how he possibly fits that definition while his presentation is overtly, obviously male.

I dont see myself as a crossdresser either. I have tried to crossdress which is fun, but for the everyday life I just wear whatever I feel like and no matter if it made for men or woman I dont think too much about it. For me it just genderoles and the roles are changing all the times like back when girls couldnt wear jeans.
what I heard from a crossdresser is she prefern wearing female clothing who specific is made for woman, and that what she enjoy. where opposite me I just find it unnessesary to even label clothing after gender.

I know a person who does this. Don't get hung up on labels. That'll only drive you crazy. Do what makes you happy!

My mom actually asked me that when I decided to play Brad for a Rocky Horror shadow cast and therefore wear women's clothing. And though I only do it for Rocky (I'm sure in the future parties too) I don't feel like it makes me a girl cross dressing as a man...cross dressing as a woman (it's just sounds weird). I'm mentally male and only see myself as a guy that is willing to wear a corset, fishnets and high heels and feel damn sexy doing it. Embrace every bit of your self. Cis guys cross dress too.

Its just one more thing that makes your identity that much more confusing for both yourself and other people (when it really shouldn't)... but we all have those things. =] Certainly keep on keepin on with what you want to do/try out.
That being said I think it makes you a man who likes to occasionally dress up like a lady (if you do indeed like it, which it seems you're on the fence about anyway.)
Maybe if/once you start up hormones and get surgery (or even just become more comfortable as yourself as a man) you'll be able to actually comfortably cross dress as a man (a man dressing as a woman) and not feel like you're just dressing as a woman (a woman dressing as a woman).

I think it would make you a person who wears what they want to wear, not what society says they should. Hugs, Devlyn
