hello Everyone,
I was thinking about my own HRT, and how long do I have taken the same medicaments, I know some girls who changes their meds every 6 months or one year, I have almost 3 years taking the same meds, so I was wondering what do you think about change the meds, is the best or the worst? some may say the same meds for a longer period of time stop working and you have to change, so what you think about it?

I'm not transitioning, I don't take any meds so I don't really have any input for you that way. Hugs, Devlyn

I will off my input, but please understand that this is just my opinion. The changes other girls are making is because it is an attempt to figure out what works as HRT is not an exact practice. its more like treating a disease or a major illness. That is it take a bitof guess work and also relies on the dr's opinion and the patient's view of what is or isn't working until a happy medium is found.
as for my own experience I started on premarin than went to menest to estrafem to finally depo estradiol (shot) and provera to prometrium
so yea it takes some guess work, and while I am currently on the shot and prometrium I still believe there is more I can gain however my current dr doesn't want to go any further as her belief system for post-op is trying to keep them at a menopausal state.
again this is my take on it all so I hope it helps ;)

yes, its dificult to know the correct meds for each one, at first started with Stogen tabs, then my DR told me to use one shot of strogen every 15 days, then one every month, also I'm using Antiandrogens and that all now I have... almost two years using the same dose

It was my under standing you stay at the same dose, as long as your blood levels were right , until post opt then you don't need as much

Quote from: evecrook on December 04, 2013, 01:40:44 PMThat is the general rule that most endo's go by but from what I understand the blood levels they go by are levels close to a cis in menopause which lately is a bit controversial.. hence why I am going to dr.odea. for a second opinion. I wasn't on a continuous regimin until just recently and since I had surgey and changed to shot form of estrogen I have seen some very noticable changes which leads me to believe I still have some growing left in me ;D
It was my under standing you stay at the same dose, as long as your blood levels were right , until post opt then you don't need as much
what interesting to note is I have seen and talked to several other post ops and surprisingly they are still on full dose e. So it also leads me to believe the general rule isn't always the best road , but perhaps the safest however.
chibi... are you saying you are just on antiandrogens? If so you really should be on e as well. Currently I take my shot once a week and my prometrium everyday
