So I know its a struggle for us to try and explain to people how we feel, and what its like to be trans. I was wondering if anyone had come up with or heard any good analogies yo put things into perspective.
My one buddy I came out to said it sounds like "running Windows on a Mac ". I thought it was very clever. I've also heard somewhere about the right hand / left hand demonstration. Asking the person to write a paragraph with their off hand.

Not really an analogy, but I LOVE the gender book(let) (http://www.thegenderbook.com/the-booklet/4561649703). I think it's fairly new, and a longer version is coming out soon. It's written by trans* people for those who aren't familiar with trans* issues.
