Lol at that duck-face comment :).
As for Your question, sure they do - in fact hormones melt them down. I used to have strong jaw muscles, now they are barely there, and some others (have no idea how they are called) have disappeared completely.

That's a very good question!
Yes, it does melt facial muscles over time, especially if you take AA's.
Lots of MTF have a 'muscle moustache' over their upper lip and it gradually flattens when on AA's.

I would think yes. you do loose muscle strength from taking hormones. It would seem your face would loose some muscle as well. On the other hand if someone talks a lot and then stops talking so much the muscles will change as well.

I feel that on hormones I have become much more talkative than I used to be (not being too silent to start with...).

I would say yes. My face looks very different from what it did a few months ago. While you can't change bone structure (outside of FFS), hrt will help change the general appearance of your face to a degree.

In some cases, it changes the face entirely. In other cases, not at all, and the person could be 16 years old. The problem for MTFs (as opposed to FTMs) is that it is much easier to add then subtract. For an FTM, you can add some muscle and facial hair, and voila. But for an MTF who had a particularly virile puberty, there might be zero hope outside of FFS.

Never heard it put that way - 'muscle moustache', but this best describes what I wanted to alter in my face via HRT. In the past I've described it as loss of "bulk", particularly all around the mouth but extending throughout the face. Fat deposits and redistribution play a part in this but the majority of the problem in my face was muscle volume. Someone recently asked me if I'd lost weight and they were judging by my face. Seeing as my weight has actually increased I would have to assume they were mostly seeing muscle reduction. I was having trouble detecting this change myself so I was pleased somebody else picked up on it - Progress! No signs of the dreaded duck-face yet though. ;D

My face is now rounder, and my cheeks are much more prominent. There is both muscle and fat above my cheekbones. I'm "apple cheeked" now. If I pinch my cheeks there is a lot more to pinch.

Don't forget the impact of facial hair removal either. Male facial hair is thicker and more deeply rooted, causing facial skin to be thicker to support them. As HRT progresses and as facial hairs are killed off via laser or electrolysis, you can expect some subtle changes in facial structure from that process too.

Yes. HRT changes all muscular density in the body. Face is no exception. The other bit that helps is that the face in women stores more fat in the cheeks and less in the jowls area so, provided that you haven't already developed a significant jowl area, you will experience a reduction in muscle mass at the jaw and cheeks while getting more fat and soft tissue around the under cheekbone area with a reduced under-chin prominence, leading to a slimmer and more shapely chin/jawline. All total, it gives the face a more feminine appearance, generally regardless of BMI unless you're significantly under the average BMI (14%).
