Title: Shared My Transformation At Church Coffee Hour
Post by: gennee on December 16, 2013, 05:54:04 PM
I was sharing my transformation with three ladies at church who I know rather well. One of them has a friend who is trans. I was able to share more of my experience with them. When asked if I was happier, I replied in the affirmative.

That's great, Gennee, glad you are able to share with them, and us. Hugs, Devlyn

I love hearing about people finding support and love at church. I know not all churches are like that, but it must be the most affirming thing of all when the people who share your faith accept you. Since religion can be such an important part of people's lives.

That is super cool Gennee,
I also a have strong support with a couple of ministers here and not so much with the church that I was assisting as a youth minister until after I came out. but have a couple of other options one door closes another opens

A church where we can share about our experiences is a really great support.  There's a village church near me where I've been a few times - not my home church.  I went to a couple of "supper & speaker" evenings "before" and a couple "after".  I met the woman who makes the list of who's going once as "him" and once as me.  The second time she said she hadn't found me entirely convincing as a man.  That's the sort of blunt speaking I really like.
