Title: if stealth or male mode what excuses do you give for hormonal facial changes
Post by: evecrook on December 20, 2013, 09:16:02 AM
just wondering, when your face starts to change toward  the feminine side and someone is curious why your face is different, what could you tell them to stay stealth or squash their curiosity

For the most part, at least in my case, I started to look younger. So when someone made a comment that I looked 'different', I would just tell them that I am aging backwards. Normally people don't want to question women about their age, nor make harsh comments about their appearances, so they would just take that answer.

I've had comments about both my hair and face and I just tell them that it's the side effects of some medications I'm taking (without going into detail of course). If they ask for details, I just tell them it's nothing serious, but I'd rather not discuss it.

Well, when I think of it, it really is no one's business to ask why someone is looking different unless it is meant to be a compliment (like "oh, your skin looks so nice" or "I like your new haircut"). I'd just say "I don't know, what's different? I haven't noticed anything."

Its called healthy living!  Diet, drinking lots of water, exercise, you know, all those things you should do whether or not you are on HRT.  I got similar comments a few years ago when I lost 17 kg (38 lbs) over about 6 months.  Everyone now assumes I am exercising a stupid amount again!

I had quit smoking about the time I started hrt, although I did start back about ten months later. At first the people I worked with marked it off to the not smoking, but then they did eventually figure it out, although they didn't ask me anything or comment on it to me. And I was working as a stevedore at the state port at the time too. I got odd looks from some ships' crews and they looked at me odd when I had to present id to board their vessels, but again, nothing was said directly to me.

I didn't make excuses at all.  I didn't feel a reason to when I knew soon enough I was going to be out completely anyway.
