Is it possible to have the sex marker on my California birth certificate changed with a court order from a different state? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

In theory yes but in practice no because of jurisdiction issues. PS at the beginning of the year you can skip the court for a CA birth certificate.

I'm experiencing the opposite issue. I live in California, but was born in New York. My petition to change my name and gender was granted without any issues, but the court order explicitly stated that the court does not have the jurisdiction to order a new birth certificate.
I'm confused by the text that followed however:
Petitioner is required by Health & Safety Code ยง103435 to file a certified copy of the Court's order with both the Secretary of State and the State Registrar within 30 days.
I have no idea what I need to file or how to go about doing it. Reading the Health & Safety codes were no help whatsoever, neither were the websites for the State Registrar or Secretary of State.
