Title: hey, you reckon...?
Post by: jonjon on July 09, 2007, 03:34:29 AM
You reckon if like, they say it depends on the womb temperature whether the child you will bear is going to be male or female? That when our lovely mommies were carrying us it's could be the temps that messed us all up?  :-\

So like, you have a fetus in a womb and it's a really hot summer so the mommy was sat with ice cubes on her stomach the whole entire time and this fetus brain develops a female one, but then mummy runs out of ice cubes and gets terribly hot and the fetus grows a peepee.

This is my theory. So i'm off to shake my fist at my mom for not sitting by the fire 24/7

::)

Its also down to the quality of sperm as well.

Mens fertility is effected by the temperature of the testicles and tight clothing.

So... If he was sitting by the fire, in his speedos, before he had sex with your mum.... blame him as well!

There may be many causes, but my personal belief is that it can be caused by extreme stress.
Even psychological stress can affect the way your body runs (as I can personally attest to at this moment).
My mother was under extreme psychological stress due to events while she carried me. Two major events.
Later on in her pregnancy, it was like she knew something had gone wrong. She kept obsessing that there was something wrong with the baby.

I also have a theory that some men are incapable for whatever reason of making boys. Like maybe the kid was going to be a boy, but the father can only produce XX offspring. Just a theory.

Well, that could be the reason. I suspect there are a lot of different causes. Some say a lot of mtfs were made from the mother taking a certain medication that was on the market at that time.
Until a cause is proven, all we have are theories.

Endocrine disruptors are well know to effect the development of unborn off spring in the womb. Many reptiles (specifically frogs, crocodiles etc) have been found to have only Female off spring on exposure to such endocrine disruptors by organic pollution. Rivers in England have been found to contain "sex changing fish", due to the high level of Estrogen in the water, near sewerage outflows, because of amount of estrogen which is carried forward from the contraceptive pill.

My mother was taking DES (DiEthylStilbestrol) as a fertility drug in the late 1950's. DES for a longtime has also been linked to Breast Cancer in women. Recently the most common use was in the treatment of Prostate cancer. It was withdrawn from public use in 1997.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diethylstilbestrol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diethylstilbestrol)

See the part that says ....Men exposed to DES before birth (in the womb), known as DES Sons, are at an increased risk for non-cancerous epididymal cysts and auto-immune disorders. Diethylstilbestrol can also cause feminisation of the male foetus, as DES undergoes metabolic epoxidation, and the epoxide product has affinity towards the estrogen receptors.

Apart from that I turned out normal?

Interesting. Sounds like that most likely is the cause for some then.

Me too, and I've wondered about this as well, because I know that strong emotions flood the body with various chemicals, and it's been I think already shown that babies in the womb are not unaffected by this.  I'm pretty sure I was born with PTSD because of all the crap that was going on during my mother's pregnancy between her and my father.  So who's to say that wasn't a factor in other things, too?  No proof, but I've wondered.

Just a quick ditto this, word for word.

An as it happens Mother has cited a particular event related. *shrug* Take that for what you will.

Now there is an interesting subject if I ever heard one. That would deserve it's own topic space for sure. Does anyone know of a study made about TS or TG twins? If not, a dissertation like that could get you a PHD.
