Title: Hours of sleep and HRT
Post by: FalseHybridPrincess on January 14, 2014, 12:25:43 PM
Ok, this may sound stupid...but Ive been wandering...

Does how much sleep you get  affect the effects of hrt or delay them/fast forward them??

For example
will it be the same if I sleep 5 hours or 12 hours???
What is better??
Does it even matter?

just wandering...

It should not matter if the days of 12 hour sleeping are limited to here and there, but not all the time. The body uses nutrients and medications far more efficiently if the body is active and a core temperature is above 97 degrees. Body temps and activity lowers and slows down during sleep periods. A fairly close schedule every day such as meal times, activity and sleep were suggested by my Endo doctor. It keeps you in a better mental state also and aids in better sleep patterns. :)

I know you should get at least 7.5 to 8 hours sleep I don't know what happens when you go past that

This was just suggested to me. More than 8 hours won't hurt you at all, it just slows the metabolism such as liver function where meds are processed. You will be OK, unless you are sleeping 12+ hours every day. Then you might talk to your doctor. :)
