So it has been awhile since I posted anything kind of slipped back into my lurking ways. But this is something that needs to be posted. I came out to my younger brother(23) last week. We invited him and his gf over for dinner. I cooked them a nice meal an we just talked and joked for awhile. Finally I built up the nerve to tell him that I am trans and had started my transition. He was a little shocked and confused, but he is handling better than I thought he would.telling me that he will always love me and support me no matter what happens. We go back to joking around and let the evening wind down before they leave.
Over the weekend I received a text from him asking if he can ask me a few questions. Things that I kind of already answered when I told him. Eventually the topic came up of telling our mother. He expressed the same fears I have with telling her. My hope is having my brother in my corner will make the rest of this coming out process easier. But a positive for the first member of my family told without to much drama. In a few weeks I move on to my mother with will open the flood gates. Despite my fears this is the happiest I've been in forever.

Thank you so much. A better reaction then I could've hope for. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come

Having a family member supporting you is so awesome! :) I sincerely hope everything else goes like this did and you stay in a happy place for the duration of transition. You go girl! ;D
