Title: Hi, I'm new!
Post by: Chic on January 18, 2014, 02:38:51 PM
Hiya, I'm new here and I'm excited to join! This is the first transgender community I've ever been involved in, so yay me! Haha~

So, about me. I'm a pre-everything MtF and I live in New York. I have a real name but I'd like to be called Chic here (my real name can be used for both genders so I'm not changing it). Due to family situations, I'm stuck as a male until when I can hopefully start HRT after getting my letter from a therapist. I'm really excited to start the transition and nobody in my family will give permission for me to get HRT now, so I have a awhile to wait :(

I've seen so many beautiful women here, and I can't wait to get some advice/predictions for my femme look as well as share my future transition!

Here's some pics of me now:

Do you guys think I'll look good after HRT? (:

Yes you ll definitely look good with hrt, maybe you can pass already if you try?
Anyway Im 19 and pretty much waited till I got 18 to come out and start hrt etc,,,I guess like that you do have more freedom , but whatever...
take this time you have to prepare mentally for transition its important  ;)

I am not sure if you are in NYC, but there is a well-known informed consent clinic there, Callen-Lorde, that can help you.  You might want to consider an anti-androgen to stop any more puberty effects.

I am not so sure about the Albany area for GLBTQ youth services.  Sorry about that.  :(

Perhaps, if you see a therapist soon, and get a gender dysphoria diagnosis, your family will relent.

It's no big deal! :)

That's a great idea and I've been hoping to see a therapist, thank you very much for all your help! I've been checking out the links you sent me and so far, they're very helpful as well ^^

I can't pass, haha, at least I don't think I can! In April or so, I'm going over to a friend's house and he's gonna give me a makeover with makeup and a wig and ahh, I'm really excited because it'll be a little bit of an indication of what I might look like later on!

Do you have any pictures of you? I'd love to see someone who started at 18! And thank you for the advice, I'm really using this time to prepare for what's ahead! :)

You cant know if you pass unless you go out on the streets or somethin XD
I dunno though , I mean I ve seen some insane transformations with hrt , like I see people who look androgynous on one month become completely female on six months...but you look really nice already so based on that I think you ll be fine , the sooner though the better , I mean if there is way to make your family accept and support you things would be kinda better..

btw I came out when I was 18 but started hormones on 19 , im only one month in so you cant understand how hormones will change you by looking at my pics XD maybe in a couple of months XD if you want to see though I ve posted on the do I pass thread I think its around page 20.... anyway I can go out as a girl with out anyone bothering me so its ok ,i just get a few looks some times ,,,propably some people maybe wandering? I dunno!

Do you mean passing as I am or passing with makeup/a wig on? I haven't been able to pass without makeup and I've also never worn makeup so I wouldn't know if I'd be able to pass, hopefully I'll find out soon!

I'll check out your pictures, and I can't wait to see your transition in the coming months! :)

It's not about passing or what anyone else thinks. It's about your own happiness and your own sanity. Be proud your brave enough to step forward early before you let it wear down your mind.

Don't jump too far ahead with HRT, there are a ton of things to think about and consider before you get to that. Take it one step at a time. Therapy is the best first step, I can't wait to take mine soon. Monday can't come fast enough.

I agree! I know full well that in my mind, my heart and my soul, I am female...unfortunately, my physical appearance does not reflect that, so once I'm able to make myself look the way I want, it'll mean so much more than just 'do I look convincing' or 'do I pass'.

I'm gonna frequent here often, jot down interesting and helpful information, put it all together, get into therapy, get information and diagnostics there, etc. That way I know when I'm fully prepared to make the change!

Also, good for you! :) I'm glad yours is so close, only on Monday? Wow. I'd die if I had a date like that so close, haha.

Well that's when I get to call to set up my appointment since they are closed on the weekends. Hopefully she won't be booked up too much and I get in there soon.
