Title: Can you get an erection with your penis after bottom surgery?

This may seem like a dumb question but is it possible? I've heard some say you have no feeling at all and you can't orgasm?

Depends on the procedure.
With meta you get a natural erection, like what you get now. Orgasms I would rate are better than before.
I haven't had a phallo, but they do not naturally erect; you need an implant or an erectile device. But while the phallus may have limited sensation (and that varies; guys say sensation eventually came back) orgasms do occur because when stimulating the penis the 'little penis' buried within it gets stimulated. I can't speak to this personally but have read accounts that guys with phallus have erotic sensation and orgasms.
And I'd believe that. I had DI top surgery with nipple grafts and I have sensation in my nipples. Not as sensitive as I was before, but I was TOO sensitive and hated having my nipples touched. Now they are a direct link to my dick and it feels amazing.

sneakersjay is exactly right, and I'll add a little background about the actual surgery, in case you don't already know all this.
The two types of bottom surgery are metoidioplasty and phalloplasty.
Basically, when you're on T for an extended period of time, your clitoris will grow and lengthen, usually by 1-3 centimeters. Meta is an operation that more or less shapes the grown clitoris into a penis and making it look like a cisguy's genitalia, but it will typically not be long enough to represent the average size in men. For this type of surgery, you can get an erection, like sneakersjay said (just on a much smaller scale), and sensation is not lost.
For phallo a surgeon will take tissue from another area of your body (usually your forearm, sometimes from other areas) and form it into the shape of a penis and attach it to your body. Usually with phallo a natural erection is not possible because the penis is not made up of erectile tissue. In order to get an erection, you will have to have erectile implants, like a stiff rod or a pump (which are also used in cisguys who have problems with impotence). But even for phallo, you don't lose feeling completely. It depends on the success of your procedure, for sure, but the far majority of guys with phallo say they do get feeling back over time, just like sneakersjay said.
The thing about 'completely losing feeling' a myth and misconception about bottom surgery. Orgasm is entirely possible with successful surgery results for most guys. Some post-op transmen actually insist that orgasm enhances the feeling of sexual pleasure for them, and it all depends on the guy and the success of their surgery results. Sorry about all the terminology and stuff, just trying to explain it all. But that's just my two cents, hopefully some post-op guys will chip in too :)

Thanks Nemo and Sneakers, I've heard and read a lot of misconceptions about bottom surgery. When I read that you'd have no feeling and can't orgasm like a cis guy, it disappointed me and I thought I wouldn't have bottom surgery.
Reading what you guys said, makes me consider having it when I'm older. :) A phalloplasty sounds the best to me.
Another question is about balls? Do they take skin to make some balls down there too? Do they have feeling as well?

Yeah, for phallo they make the shaft and the balls and the whole thing look real, like, when results are good enough and have healed up, you can't even tell it apart from a cisguy's. Have you heard of Transbucket? I know it's against the rules to put links to other places here, but I highly suggest Google for Transbucket, if you're really interested and want to see results. I'm not putting any links, but sorry if this counts as advertising and is against the rules, Mods. I wasn't sure. Just trying to help out, but I understand if this post gets removed. Anyway for this, viewer discretion is advised, if you know what I mean. It's purely informational, so you don't need to verify an age to sign up, but just as a warning in case you don't want to see it. And also remember that most of the guys posting on there have just finished their operations or aren't completely finished with the surgery, so after it heals up and the scarring fades, it's much better :)

I just checked it out and there are some pretty impressive results. Phalloplasty definitely looks better in my opinion.

Your labia become your scrotum, and they put the testicular implants in there.

Oh okay.
You can't ejaculate after bottom surgery, right?

If you ejaculate now, yes, you will. I never did before, but I have ejaculated 5x since lower surgery. I wish I could do it every time, but I can't. As far as ejaculate like a cis guy? No.

I've never ejaculated before. :-\
Thanks for the info though.

If you google 'female ejaculation' there are some tips on how to do it. Works for some people, not so much for others. I had never even heard about it and had no idea it was possible. I still wish I could figure out how to do it consistently. Being overstimulated helps.
Warning: it might be too graphic if you are really squeamish about female bits.

I've tried it before and no luck. Maybe one day it'll happen when I'm really turned on.
I don't get really get squeamish with genitalia. I don't care for my female bits but I have to deal with them.. for now at least.

Yeah, it doesn't work easily for me, either, but I keep trying because I'd love to do it consistently!

as there are videos of how far the natural clitoris etc can stretch and become erect I am surprised at surgeons not capitalisng on this by somehow permanently elongating it until it will function quite well as a mini penis of perhaps 4inches length.
tissue stertching and augmentation is a well advanced art especially for scalp burns so I do think more research needs doing on elongating clitorii.

4 inches would be amazing. A 4 inch penis is small by cis standards but medically "normal" (micropenis is defined as less than 3 inches) and capable of penetration. The only problem is I am unsure whether erectile tissue can be stretched in the same way as things like skin.

I'm sure it's done to some extent (elongating it I mean). And obviously there is some growth on T. I know someone who got about 3 1/2 from Dr Crane with a meta, but he had growth on T. I think most of the extension of tissue has to do with stretching SKIN, and most of that involves using extenders to lengthen the skin for whatever (like covering a wound). Theoretically I suppose but it would be hard walking around with extenders in your junk. You also want to keep sensation not sure that all of these extensions would have nerves.

I totally agree. This would be awesome. For ME better than any bottom surgery.
