just wondering the kind of conversation that would take place if you were noticeably changing or changed. I went to an all boys school. haven't gone to a reunion yet. I'm guessing it would be an interesting experience if I was farther a long to be noticeably changing.

Nope, back then it was a lottery on who would beat the crap out of me, for being 'different', on a daily basis. That whole load of hurt began 31 years ago. If I went to a reunion now and explained who I used to be, It would be much the same thing, except I would probably get thrown in jail for putting a bullet in someones head..

Never was one for reunions. All the cool kids at the time were too cool for school anyway and I'm sure none of them would bother to attend. If I ever did go to one, I'd probably do the same thing I always did in school- skip it and smoke pot in the parking lot with the rest of the metalheads.

The only way I would go to a high school reunion is if someone paid me a million bucks. I would walk through the school for 15 minutes, associate with no one and split. Then I would figure out what I was going to do with the money.

I went to the combined college 75th anniversary/reunion two years ago. Missed last years as I was still overseas.
Instead of gate crashing the event I checked with the organising committee that I would be attending, but not as my former student self. They didn't think it would be a problem, but advised me some attendees may take umbrage.
Due to the anniversary, the event started with a mass. Being the only woman in a congregation of 400 blokes was a bit of a head turner. You could see the nudges going round saying " Who's the chick?" I just had to laugh. Soooooo many egos being tested.
Meeting up with my class year was hilarious. Lots and lots of interesting and serious questions. Only some were challenged by my presentation. The overall feeling was very positive and supportive. However this was a one night stand so to speak. I'm sure the acceptance will wain with time. I had lots of doors opened for me. First served at meal time. Sadly nobody asked me for a dance when the band struck up.
Although the college did go co-ed for a short period, I was outside the age range for me to be seen as a former girl student. One Of the teaching brothers was trying to subtlety find out who I was by asking ever indirect question in the book. I had soooo much fun with him, if he'd asked the most direct question first, he would have had his curiosity satisfied immediately. As he didn't ask the right questions, I left him struggling with his unsatisfied curiosity. "Who was she?" may never be answered.
I going to this years as well. After all, these boys were family all those years ago.
For those considering not going. Just remember, everyone changes with age and maturity. The bullies of your past can become your biggest supporters. It did in my case.
Hope you enjoy your reunion.

I have my 10 year reunion this year. Debating wither or not to go if they even have one (I have no idea how that works). I wouldn't mind going. Of course high school wasn't the best time in my life but it was high school and it would be nice to see the people I don't hate. Though really thinking about it those people wouldn't be there so odds are I won't go.

I didn't get an invitation to my 10 year high school reunion. I was still living as my birth name back then so I don't know why I didn't get one. I wouldn't have went to it anyway but I thought they would send them automatically. I guess that I wasn't cool enough to be invited. :D

Really? Hmmmm that is dumb. I mean it was actually that you're clearly to cool for them. I'm "friends" with most of the people from HS because of Facebook but still. No idea you had to be invited.

I know nothing about 99% of the schmucks that I went to school with. The two friends I did have ditched me once I transitioned.

Hi girls, I went to my 40th in September of 2013. Right after my implants. No one had seen me since 1973 because I had moved to Colorado. Everyone and I mean Everyone was absolutely awesome! They not only accepted me,but even the Jocks asked me to dance. I am now friends on Facebook with 20 classmates. They even asked via the microphone while I was dancing, how it felt to be the "Belle of the Ball". It was the best day I've had in my transition.
I even took lots of pictures with my high school sweetheart.

Hi Stephanie,
It will be, I promise. I too am an old Christian Brothers girl. My ex brother-in-law is a Christian Bro. and no doubts hears of my escapades.
The Royal Commission into Child Sex Abuse in Oz did some recent studies and found the Christian Bros the worst offenders in child abuse. I noted and learned with interest, a reasonable proportion of questions I was asked about my current gender was on the back of, "we're you abused too"? "Was the abuse you suffered a reason for your gender change?" Fortunately I wasn't abused by the Brothers.
Have fun at the reunion. It'll be a hoot.

I really, REALLY hope whether I'm post-op or not never becomes relevant at a high school reunion. :)
My 20th is coming up, and I am considering it, although I'm not sure if I'll tell anyone who I am (I met my wife in high school, so I could go as her spouse regardless of whether I ID'd myself). It'd be kind of hilarious to see if anyone actually twigged to it. :)

I couldn't stand the people I went to high school with but my 10th was a blast! It was amazing to see what great people my old classmates became. Some of them were even all, "I'm so sorry I was so mean to you back in high school! Have a Corona!"
I missed my 15th. But I'm looking forward to my 20th. :)

I went to my 20th last November - it was a blast. People remembered me and many were pleased to see me.. There was, however, a conspicuous level of amnesia where my name was concerned.. :D
If anyone had any issues with the fact I was now a woman, they kept it to themselves. It was great to catch up with some of these people. There was one nasty incident later in the night, when some drunken random decided to have a go at me.. He found himself being taken away by 6 of the greek guys I went to HS with. Once they returned from giving the dude a stern talking to, I attempted to thank them and was told that no thanks were needed, they'd have done that for any of the girls. :) This kinda floored me, as they has not been the most tolerant of diversity in the past.
One kinda funny comment I got told about later, 'I remember what she used to look like, why does she get to look good now?'.
I also ran in to my first GF, hadn't seen her since HS.. Seems none of my exGF's is completely straight. And just to create some gossip, we kissed. Shame her technique hasn't improved..

Nope, don't know if they've even had one. The high school I went to was converted to something else and they built a new one to combine two older high schools. And after a brief exchange with someone from that part of my life, I've decided that any other contact with anyone from that time period would be a waste of time and effort.

A few months ago I was contacted (under my old name) by a high school classmate. She was putting together a graduating class facebook page and asked me to become a member.
I wanted to, but I realized my FB page has my new name, so I couldn't do it without coming out to everyone in my high school class.
I did.
It's been great. A lot of the women have communicated with me and I've gotten to know some of them. Everyone has mellowed. The people who wouldn't give me the time of day back then, now seem genuinely friendly. Everyone has been great.
I'm seriously considering attending my 35th reunion this spring.

A friend attended West Point as a male and went on to become a pilot. She went back to her class reunion and got asked out by a classmate. Lol. I've gone to a few news reunions, and while there were a few that wouldn't walk over, most were nice, even curious. Once we talked shop the trans thing disappeared. Kinda like stage fright. Or being back in high school.
