Others will chime in.
However this is common, still, check with your doctor next time you go in, or call them. It is likely normal.

When I began HRT I was informed that this is a likely side effect.
But like others have said check with your doctor.

Are you taking Androcur by any chance? If you are, then you should check your prolactin levels and check that you don't have a pituitary tumor with MRI. What other medications are you taking? Or supplements?

This topic pops up fairly regularly, and almost always the girl with the problem is also squeezing her breasts, effectively "milking" herself. Apart from the practice potentially encouraging more liquid to form, you should be careful not to hurt yourself or damage/block a duct. Pregnant women lactate once their child is born because their E drops and T increases which is a clear indication to the body the pregnancy is over and it's time for the breasts to start lactating. Could be your hormone levels are bit out of whack - better get it checked out ASAP.

In my case, I am almost certain my 'mones are out of whack. I take shots and the next one comes tomorrow, so no doubt the E is dropping.
As for the squeezing causing problems, well, hehe, forgive a girl for trying just to see if it worked. It also really hurt. No need to do that often. Not for me. It is rather surreal seeing liquid come out of my nipples. I have never seen anything come out of anyone's nipples. I can now cross it off the bucket list and move on.
I get to see the doc tomorrow, and I should have my hormone levels checked within a week or so.

Shots are best taken weekly (if you are taking estradiol valerate) to avoid feeling down from levels getting too low.
As for leakage, if you are not taking Androcur or anything else which affects prolactin and pituitary gland strongly, then it's fine. It is rare though and would only happen after a reduction from high levels of estrogen and progesterone, as well, since estrogen in high enough levels significantly increases prolactin and progesterone (as well as estrogen, but to a lesser extent) inhibit lactation, the milk (or colostrum, yellow discharge) coming out. Are you taking bio-identical estradiol and progesterone or Premarin, Ethinyl Estradiol birth control pills? Or Provera?

Like i said, if you feel down or not good days before your next shot, then you could ask your doc for injection to be done every 7-10 days.
From Contraception. 1980 Apr;21(4):415-24.
A comparison of the pharmacokinetic properties of three estradiol esters.
Oriowo MA, Landgren BM, Stenström B, Diczfalusy E.
""In order to assess the pharmacokinetics properties of estradiol cypionate, valerate and benzoate, the daily plasma levels of estradiol and estrone were analysed in groups of 10, 9 and 10 subjects, respectively, before and during 3 weeks after the intramuscular administration of a single dose. In order to minimize the contribution of endogenous estrogens to the plasma levels, all subjects were receiving a combined oral contraceptive consisting of levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol for three months prior to the study and during the study period. The administration of estradiol cypionate gave significantly lower peak levels of estradiol and estrone than that of the valerate and benzoate. Peak plasma levels of estradiol and estrone were reached in approximately 4 days following the administration of estradiol cypionate and in a significantly shorter time (approximately 2 days) following the administration of both the valerate and benzoate. One hour after the injection of the esters, the average percentage increases in plasma estradiol and estrone levels were significantly higher in the valerate and benzoate groups compared to the subjects receiving estradiol cypionate. The average duration of elevated estrogen levels was shortest in the benzoate group (4-5 days) followed by the valerate (7-8 days) and cypionate (approximately 11 days). In none of the subjects studied were elevated estradiol and/or estrone levels encountered 2 weeks after the injection of the various esters. The data suggests that among the three esters studied, the valerate provides the most predictable pharmacokinetic behaviour."
Thus, in the case of estradiol valerate, levels stayed high for 7-8 days.

I am going to have my estrogen levels checked in a couple weeks. I will see about having them checked on day 9 as I am quite curious.

You can kinda tell when estrogen levels are too low (for you) by how you feel, as well. In my opinion, how you feel is more reliable than numbers because numbers don't take into account sensitivity of the individual. But, you could check levels just out of curiosity, I guess...

I am still getting used to they cycle but I know what you mean. I feel really hollow before the next shot and uber emotional after getting one.

At the point where I was taking my strongest self-med dosage, a combination of Cyproterone acetate and Estradiol daily, I developed some leakage. I'm on a maintenance level of Estradiol only, and there hasn't been any leakage in some time.

This is because Androcur (Cyproterone Acetate) stimulates strongly the release of prolactin through, it appears, the inhibition of dopamine. The increase in prolactin is what causes the leakage...and too high prolactin levels can sometimes lead to a pituitary tumor. Glad you're not on it anymore. :)
