Title: Questions about Hormone blockers, Testerone and Human growth hormones
Post by: tayawn on February 06, 2014, 01:51:00 PM
My questions about Hormone blockers are, what are the effects of that medication in young teens. ?
Will it help me grow taller and stop all female puberty?
should i take hormone blockers before testerone? (would my edo prescribe hormone blockers to me?) Im mainly focused on growing taler because im only 5'3 :(

Now my questions about Testerone , are, will that also help with growth in young teens?
AND do you start T right after your gender therapist diagnoses u as an ftm and sends you to a edo?

and my question for growth hormones are, will my edo prescribe those to me? to help me out with growth? i mean i atleast wanna be 5'7 or 5'8. My mom is 5'4 and my dad is 6'1.

i started puberty when i was about 10 but im still young in age. birthday just passed. Is there any hope i can get up to 5'7 or 5'8?
did you grow any taller?

Hormone blockers will stop female puberty, assuming you haven't completed it yet (which it sounds like you haven't)
To my understanding, hormones are what stop growth, so blockers should help you grow taller if you're still growing. If you've stopped growing on the other hand, it's likely you wont grow more (but still possible). From your parents' heights I'd guess you've still got growth potential but I'm no doctor.

Testosterone when you're still growing is usually not recommended, however there are debates about whether it stops growth or not. As for the growth hormones, I have very little knowledge.

I think now you can start T almost whenever you want (but the younger you are under 18, the harder it is to find a doctor), however it is highly recommended that you talk to a gender therapist to make sure you are emotionally and mentally ready for T. When your doctor deems you ready, then they'll send you to an endo. With some guys, the therapist knows right away that they are ready, and with other guys, sometimes they need to straighten things out in their lives or think a little deeper about things first. It's not just a simple "you're ftm, go get T." Once you get to the endo, it can either be immediate or they may wait for blood results to come back before prescribing T.

I started puberty about that time I think, and sadly I'm still the 5'1" I reached when I was 12. Of course, everyone is different, so hopefully you'll keep growing to be 5'7" or 5'8"

i'm short also, stuck at 5'3, it sucks but if you wear certain work boots and ->-bleeped-<-, can make you seem taller anyway lol or they have ->-bleeped-<- you can put in your sneakers to make you a little bit taller, but I also know guys that are like 5'6, so doesn't make me feel to bad.

How old are you now? If you're younger than like 14 you could maybe still grow a little taller if you got blockers. Estrogen is what closes the growth plates :) also I don't know if they do this for trans people but you could ask about growth hormone.
