Title: Hello From Chicago
Post by: Pinkkatie on February 08, 2014, 11:51:34 AM
I just recently joined and it appears that this is the place to start.

About twenty years ago, I went into therapy for about a year over sexual orientation issues. I was very depressed at that time. I had selective mutism and wouldn't talk at all in therapy. I left the therapy believing that I was a better person then when I went in.

It wasn't until a late last year that I came to the conclusion that the rapid heart beat, the jitters and dizziness whenever I'm around other people in certain situations was not normal. I went back to therapy in September of 2013. During therapy I discovered that my social anxiety is caused by my gender dysphoria. So, this month, at the age of 43, I will be starting the transition to become a female.

A big warm welcome to the family baby! I started transition at 47 and now at 48 I am Full Time so it is never to late to be the real you. This family saved my life and taught me a lot the short time I have been here. All of the information you get here is quality and provided by those with first hand actual experience about the whole process of transition. Please feel free to rant, vent, share good news, learn and have some fun along the way. You have been adopted now and I am delighted to have another sister. Here is a BIG HUG ( :icon_hug:) to start you on your journey! :)

Welcome to the forum,

I am glad you have now a understand of some of your issues of gender.

This is a long path we walk towards socjal acceptance (or as much as we can).

Take things one day at a time, One step at a time. Fallow your heart and stay true to your inner voice.

Lots of luck on your path.

Isabell

Hi katie,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Congratulations on taking control of your future. It beats someone else doing it or you. This way, you can chose your outcomes. Keep up the good work.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
