Title: Therapy Suggests
Post by: Kade1985 on February 11, 2014, 05:57:05 PM
So I saw my therapist here at school today and she wants to try having my mom in on one of our sessions to try and help convince her transitioning is for the better for me. I'm a bit nervous to ask cause she'll probably say no BUT maybe she'll go for it. I hope she does to be honest. I'm on a waiting list for public housing but I'd rather stay home during college, you know? Just so I don't have to worry about working enough hours to make the bills of living on my own. I'm the sort of person that stresses easily and I don't think working a lot of hours on top of full time school would be good for me. Mostly because I'd probably drop school if it became too much. I don't wanna do that.

So fingers crossed on that ya?

Also my testosterone has been ordered and I should be getting it sometime either this week or next. Hopefully this week cause omg I'm ready for this to happen lol.

Anyways just a small update there. I probably won't update my vlog for a small bit, been kinda meh. I might need to change anti-depressants again cause I'm not doing so hot on the current ones.

So I asked my mom if she'd willing to do this with my therapist. She asked if it had to do with this "transgender stuff" and I said yes, cause it does. She shockingly agreed to it. O_o So fingers crossed

Hi Kade,

Hopefully for your mothers sake, if she hears what you've been saying from a health professional she'll get a better understanding. She is more likely to believe something coming from a third party unbiased source.

Wishing all goes well for you. Keep in touch and let us know how you're coping.

Huggs
Catherine

Ya I'm kinda at school right now having a mental break down. I can't handle anything right now and tempted to throw myself at the psyche ward.

Hang in there, dude.  Let's hope for the best and that a professional can help teach your mom that what you need is support and guidance to make the right choices for YOU.

We're rooting for you.

Thanks. I have my fingers crossed for me too lol. I keep checking my tracking information for my testosterone but it hasn't changed this morning... Probably hasn't been scanned since this morning. Hopefully it's still on time =x

Congrats on starting HRT and it probably won't hurt having your mom sit in with you for a session. Maybe your therapist can convince her to be more objectionable  towards you.
