Title: Hey guys and gals
Post by: MichaelJTritter on February 24, 2014, 06:08:32 PM
Hey guys and gals, I'm probably the odd duck here as the transman of the bunch. I've had 2/3 of surgeries and been on hormones for three years.

Nice to meet ya'all

Nice to meet you too.

I realized I wasn't very descriptive about myself (I am kind of quiet by nature).

I came out when I was 22 (I am 28 now), much to the chagrin of my "family", my biological family has next to nothing to do with me, which is what it is, but I have an awesome new family and support system that rocks. I've been taking injection testosterone since I was 25 years old, so I've made pretty much all the physical changes I will from that. I've had top surgery, as well as a robotic assist hysterectomy, which sucked because I kept throwing up after surgery. Top surgery was fairly easy minus the removal of the drains, that hurt pretty good. I live in NY, and work in PA.

I'm in the medical field, I have a few transgender friends from my previous job and other places in my travels, I seemingly am a magnet for mentoring people who are going through the process (why anyone would go to me for that is nuts). I've always been male acting if you will, dressed like one my whole life, cut my hair short, I love guns and cars. Most in fact think I was actually "born" physically this way - as oppose to having transitioned. I have never really had female friends, I don't relate well to them for some reason, just how I am (I am a very intense person - alot of people are put off by it), but I have a good bit of male friends, most of whom had no idea until I told them. Now if only I could grow an adams apple - I usually hide my throat because of it, even though my older brother wants to smack me half the time for being that way, he says I am just fine as is.

My co-workers/employees know, but they are fine and dandy with it, I'm one of the guys and fit in without issue. My older brother (who technically I am not biologically related to, but we are family), has been a huge help and support to me, without him, I wouldn't be where I am at. I have a better half, who loves me and he takes very good care of me, he is very patient and sweet to me.

Michael, thanks for providing some more insight.

Yeah, New York and Pennsylvania have some pretty good resources for the TG/TS community there.
