Title: Hello Everyone.
Post by: Rhian1994 on March 02, 2014, 08:09:40 AM
Hello Everyone, My name is Rhian or Rhi for short.

I'm currently transitioning MTF, well I say currently.

I haven't really started anything yet, I have a psychiatrist appointment about my bi-polar, and I'm going to mention my transition then. It's been so difficult to find therapists and the likes in the U.K where I am.

I am currently 19, and disabled.

I am hoping to find a accepting community and place where I can go to rant, or just talk to people.

I'd love to meet/make friends with other transitioning people that understand.

All the friends I've told so far have been completely understanding and really supportive, one even offered to help with my costs.

I'm just wary about coming out to family....

Thanks,
Rhi

Hello Rhi,

It's great that you have some supportive friends.  I came out to some friends first as well, and having them back me up was a ton of help when it came to the much scarier disclosures to my family.

Best of luck with the therapist.  I'm not saying to adopt a pessimistic attitude, but be sure to go in knowing that not all therapists will be able to give you the support you are looking for.  Hopefully this one works for you, but don't give up if it turns out to not be the case.
