Title: When will Sex Drive drop?
Post by: AshleeLC on March 07, 2014, 04:31:52 AM
Alright, so lately, I've been noticing my sex drive will go away for a few days and then be annoying as heck for a day, then it will drop again for a period of time. When will HRT just kill my sex drive, as I really just want it to go away. I mean on average, as I know every person is different.

Likely, as soon as your brain stops thinking about it.

HRT does not usually kill the sex drive for MTFs, it just changes and often reduces it. Seems you are a textbook example. The brain is the largest most powerful erogenous zone in the body.

Makes sense. Darn it I was hoping HRT would get rid of it.

It stops if your dead or braindead  ;D
Your mindset make up 99% of it, so stop thinking and looking at arousing things.

I've been on HRT for over a year. I don't get erections anymore until right before I'm about to O, but I still want physical contact and sexual sharing with another person. That drive is as strong as it ever was. Stronger, actually.

I think that's a part of being a women. Women are not asexual. They have powerful sexual feelings, though they are very different from men's.

Ashlee, I have been on HRT about half as long as you. I am only on estrogen so far, so we might now be apple to apple. If anything my sex drive has gone up over the last month, but it is different than before, and seems to be continually morphing. Where it will end up I don't know. My whole perception of what is pleasurable is changing for me. I am thrilled by the journey so far, and want to see where it will go.

When i started taking AA's, my sex drive lowered within a week. And I am on a low dose, as well as being someone in a family where the males have higher-than-usual T-levels. But sexuality doesn't disappear, it just changes. I still have sexual thoughts and desires, they just aren't expressed the same way as I would've expressed them before as full male.

The best way I could describe it is that before, sex drive felt like pressure that needed releasing and was hard to control, now its a river the flows naturally, and when it rains (things getting hot and heavy) the river flows faster and higher until it becomes a white-water rapid and then slowly declines back to a gentle stream.

Very strange interpretation, I know xD But thats how it feels to me. Back then, whenever i would become sexually aroused, it was one of those things that needed to be resisted rather than something that comfortably be put-off for later. Now its just... different... its more about the experience and less about the release. Granted, I've only been on HRT for 18 days but my sex drive was one of the first things that changed drastically.

The way things have gone for me so far is basically...

Without any stimulation, I don't really think about sex any more, like the biological urge is gone. It used to be that if I have not had sex for a week or so, I started to feel my sex drive increasing, and thus sex played on my mind all the time.

But now that I have been on HRT for a few months, it doesn't really seem to matter whether I have sex or not, it just doesn't pop up out of nowhere.

But on the other hand, if I suddenly find myself in with somebody who I am strongly attracted to, or in a sexual situation, it all comes back with a vengeance :D

So I guess, if I was with somebody who got me going on a regular basis, my sex drive would be just as it was pre HRT, but without that it's just not really something that comes to mind often.

Hope that helps ^^

I love these threads..

HRT will not kill off your sex drive, it will change it, but it won't make it go away completely. It's perfectly normal for a woman to have a sex drive, so why be surprised or freaked out to discover you have one? Yes, it will change, mine certainly has, but it's still there..

Wow. You just explained it perfectly with that stream analogy. Like wow, and yea, thats kinda the reason I just want my sex drive to go away, its like you said, not there or push away for later, but every so often it just goes back to having to be resisted and fought before going away again.
