Title: binding tips please
Post by: new name on March 10, 2014, 02:41:22 AM
Anyone have a method of getting rid of the lump above your sternum or that part of the chest lump that's right in the middle of your chest when you bind?  I don't mind having a little lump on the left and right, but it's that part in the middle that bugs me because IMO it looks like a sports bra, which I don't want to appear to be wearing.  Alternatively, do you have binding tips for people who are larger in that department (skinny and big)?

If you're using a long binder that covers the stomach area (Underworks Model 997), what I do is pull it all the way down to my upper thighs and that keeps the lump from appearing. This is extremely uncomfortable however but I put appearing correct over the pain although it's not healthy.

I'd pull it down to stretch it up length wise as best you can (helps create a sort of ramp up to the highest point instead of a flat area and then a bulge (like a sports bra).  I used to keep it stretched by tucking my binder in and wearing a super tight belt.  I'd also have to readjust every now and then and pull the twins apart squishing them out left and right.  The combined efforts of all these forces seemed to do the trick nicely.

Just be careful you don't hurt yourself with your belt being too tight.  I definitely got some bruises on my hip bones every now and then.  Luckily, I wasn't very large around so I wasn't unsafely squishing my gut, but its certainly something to be weary of.
