okay, so my sister wants to get a sex change because she's never felt right in her own body and i kinda know what she's going through but then she asked me a question that stumped me: if you get a female to male gender change does that mean you start producing sperm?
i told her that i honestly didn't know and i was wondering if any of you peeps might know. please reply to this asap. thanks. :)

Unfortunately, no, she (he?) won't produce sperm because you need testicles to do that, and I'm pretty sure they haven't figured out a way to transplant those... :(
For both Male-to-Female's and Female-to-Male's, the process of transition (taking hormones, etc) makes you sterile. Also, while the medical technology is able to produce wonderful results for Male-to-Female's (creation of a vagina), our FTM brothers are not so lucky because the results are not as promising (I've heard a procedure which gives a mechanical pump thing that looks like a penis... :-\). As far as I know, many FTM's don't have genital surgery.
There's more to transition than just the surgery. Gender transition is a serious live-altering journey. I would recommend that your sister seek a counselor who has experience with gender issues.

I believe females to males have no way of producing sperm. I think the sperm producing organs would need to be transplanted and I don't think science is anywhere near doing this.
Just out of curiosity, why would you need to know ASAP?
By the way, Sketchy, have you written an introduction for the introduction section?
It's a good way to give people some background that will help us to understand you a little until we get to know you better.

Medical science isn't. Testicles/penis' and ovaries/wombs cannot be transplanted. FTM can't produce sperm, and MTF's can't produce eggs. Before transition and before I did any research on the matter, I thought the ovaries/womb/vagina were transplanted, but then after researching the matter found this to be false. Also, where would the donor organs come from? ???

Nope.....ya needs testicles (or as my grandson says, "texticles") to make spermies, just like ya need ovaries to make a few eggs.
