Title: Hello
Post by: XxSamanthaxX on March 11, 2014, 09:55:48 AM
Hello all I am Samantha a MTF transgender I'm 27 and I have just came out about 3-4 weeks ago, while my family said they knew and they accept me they still call me by my birth name which is brian and refer to me as he and him etc.

Any way I heard my "dad" on the phone today to my step mum saying that I'm "upping" my dressing, I wore a top (not low cut or anything as I'm still working on hair removal) a hoodie black high waisted skinny jeans and dark tannish flat knee boots (I've wore the outfit when i came out only with a different pair of boots and a lovely leather jacket I picked up).

Just the things he says really get me down ( I suffer from depression).

I know I don't look convincing but I have always felt that I'm meant to be female since a very young age I was just ashamed of myself and hid it, just recently I said enough and accepted myself which led to me coming out.  And I have always felt more comfortable around females than men (I have two close friends who are men and they have accepted me and will support me as much as they can).

sorry for boring you guys and girls out

Samantha xx

Hi Samantha and welcome to Susan's. In time you will get the look that you desire. Took me abut a year to get it where I wanted it.

Samantha, you are not boring.  And there is no reason to be ashamed.

You are among friends here now.  Welcome.  :)

Nice to meet you Samantha, and dad's can be that way as most of us know all too well. As long as you are strong being you, it will all workout, and he may come around with time. I do say I struggle with my parents, especially my dad, but I have to remind myself I have been struggling with this all my life and just accepting things at 45 once and for all. So I guess I need to let him have 45 years too, which means when he hits like 117 he will probably go "Eureka, Tony is really Toni! Funny I thought that a little when I was 72, but more and more it made sense until one day, snap, crackle, POP! It all made sense."  :o

I guess what I am saying is, good luck with dad, I think your's will come along in time, though he may need 27 years.  :P

Now if you need unconditional support, you will find a good amount here. I know I have and it is amazing to read all the different advice and experiences you will see posted everyday. Then always followed up with words of encouragement and/or understanding.

Be good, be yourself, be good to yourself.

Sincerely

A big warm welcome to the family Samantha! The only thing I can add is to remember in a way they are transitioning as well. It will take some time and their will be issue's, but families do come around for the most part. Any question asked here is important or it wouldn't have been asked so fire away! Feel free to rant, vent, share good news (we like that here a lot), learn or just have some distracting fun and meet the rest of the family. After 15 post's you can use the Personal Message feature to contact any of us directly and have a private talk or ask specific questions. Here is a BIG HUG  :icon_hug: to welcome you and make you feel right at home, because you are! :)
