Title: Pictural History on HRT
Post by: Pinkkatie on March 16, 2014, 01:52:35 PM
I had someone on another post I created telling me to taking pictures of myself to see the changes. I thought I would share my first picture of myself I took 18 days after starting HRT.

It's a very good way to track your progress by taking pictures of yourself. If you want to go extreme you can do like Iigethii on Youtube did:

I take a picture about once a week myself. I might make it into a video at some point, but I have some pretty poor attitudes toward my looks so I am not sure if I will or not.

I've actually taken a picture of myself everyday since december 12. It's just been 95 days, but I think it's fun to have something that you know you have to do everyday. Before my injuries I had running, then I had chess and now I have this as something that I do everyday.

I have the same mindset as you do towards my own looks. I don't see myself sharing a video at all. In fact, this is only the second time I've ever posted a picture of myself on the 'net. :)

I've developed this tradition of taking a picture every friday since I started hormones (my first dose fell on a friday). At first I was like "Why'm I doing this? I never see any difference"... Well. 10 weeks later, if I look at that first photograph, there's a HUGE difference. So, it serves as a nice motivational tool, for those times when I feel like I'm going nowhere.

I rarely take pics. Even my av is outdated and pre hrt. I can't imagine taking daily pics of my life.

It's fun and easy once you try.
And in your case OP it would be a good reason to see the "maleness" melt away, so to say.

I haven't added anything in here in a while. Here are a couple pictures of my hairline and my bald spot. I have a full A cup now, but not going to post my breast for all to see. :P

Pardon my poor photography skills.

I'm hoping HRT helps with my hair. I'm considering hair transplant, but want to wait on it. I might do that at the same time I get FFS.

The pictures are taken about six months into HRT. There is some minor difference. I'm thinking of getting a hair transplant  I just don't know how long I should wait until I do it.

Full hair regrowth with HRT/Finasteride/Dutasteride takes 3-5 years.

With that said, though, the most hair loss that it can reverse is about your last 5-7 years of hair loss. DHT kills off hair follicles given enough time, and they'll never recover no matter what you do after that. So if you were still partially bald 7 years ago, and you wouldn't be happy just returning to that level, then it's probably okay to go ahead and look into transplants, because that's about the most that you can reasonably expect.

If most of your hair loss is recent, though, it's a good idea to wait. I've had a pretty decent amount of regrowth myself, to the point that I couldn't part my hair down the middle pre-HRT without looking half-bald, (and it was mostly within the most recent 4 years or so that this happened,) but now it's really filled in on top, and it's mostly just the corners and the vertex, which I started losing when I was about 20-21, that still have recession showing.
