Title: Cost of Hormone/Testosterone Blockers?

Hello! My name is Rylee, and I am questioning my gender. I was wondering how much it would cost to start hormone transition with Testosterone Blockers. I am not 100% sure if I can take Spiro, or if I have to take Lupron or something similar, as the IRC room said. Thank you!

That is a difficult question to answer accurately. The price can vary widely. I know that when I first began taking Spiro I was uninsured and paying out of pocket. I checked four different national chain pharmacies and found that all four had substantially different prices... up to a 30% difference. If you have access to several different pharmacies check their pricing before getting your prescription filled.

Hey Rylee!
I'm on Spirononononolacatonin or whatever it is and Estradiol, no insurance (not even the walgreens thing) and it's about $90/mo. Apparently getting the walgreens card makes it a lot cheaper. That's for the tablets.
The initial appt + blood work with my endo was $100 + $220, but I'd had my labs done at the veteran's affairs hospital so that made it a bit cheaper. I would figure maybe between $300-500 + whatever therapy costs are included until you can get your ref letter.

Umm... I pay $5/month for my spiro and another $5 for my estradiol at Costco. I have good insurance but I don't even use it for them (my co-pay is more)
That's the main reason I changed Costco to my pharmacy! :)
But to be fair, I'm only starting out and it could be dosage related. :-\
