So I love mostly love my life at work. I'm full time as male and stealth. Some people know, some don't. But I get to just be a guy and it's great. Unfortunately I've gotten some ->-bleeped-<- from management. Asking me which bathroom I'm gonna clean while laughing pisses me off, but I'd brush it off and deal. Then yesterday my supervisor (who no one can stand because she thinks her job is to do everything she can to make things easier for herself) asked me if I had shaved that day then laughed in my face (guys are required to be clean shaven or have their beard already grown at the beginning of the season, and my bosses are constantly having to get on my co-workers for skipping their morning shave). I almost snapped. I felt like if I went to them directly it would have turned into a big joke, so I went to the HR Director to discuss what was going on. We're having a sit down with my boss tomorrow. It's been a long road accepting and feeling comfortable with myself as a trans* man. Sticking up for myself made me feel proud. Just thought I'd share..

I wish you the best. Society sure is out of touch sometimes. And from a women manager i guess she never had anything said to her in her past. Hmm trying to keep this as clean as i can.

Anyway i hope things get worked out and your place of employmet becomes a safe place for you to work with out those types of people.

Good for you. You don't have to take that BS from anyone, much less your supervisor...she should be more professional.

I hope you document those incidents and have witnesses. You could have a sexual harassment case, which is probably why HR is doing the sit-down. From the EEOC web site: "Although the law doesn't prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment.."

Your boss is a bully and I'm glad you called her out on it.

I might "accidentally" use the voice recording app on my phone and turn it around.

I had a problem with a supervisor for a long time because of my age. I probably should of done something about but I gave him a break because he was young and uneducated and an idiot. Your doing the right thing and I go along with what Jill F said for future back up a good recorder.
